What issues are there with the I4 (if any) looking to buy

Hi,
I`m back after dropping out from the original deposit list and picked up a Ftype in the meantime while i waited for the 2.0 to be released.

Looking again, it needs to be an auto so will either be a v6 auto or the i4, looking through autotrader at the moment.

Re the i4, has there been any specific issues to look out for, how are they? Not looking to start a V6 v i4 war or even manual v auto. If i could go manual i would.....

I know a lot of the V6 issues that have been published, do they translate to the i4 as well?

My I4 has been faultless 12kmiles in 6 months

Nothing of note, yet. Except for a faint smell of coolant coming from intercooler upper tank, might be the cap vent... Uncertain if this V6 or AMG engine specific.

7 months in and so far very little has gone wrong. Had drivers side window opening, everytime I closed the door, but that was fixed with a reset.
All the cars have the HVAC issue, but thats covered by a Lotus fix, that is covered under warranty and the dealers do usually at first service, unless they see the car ealier
Other than that, I dont know of an I4 specific issue. Emira wide, there is the paint blistering on the doors, and there are numerous threads covering that

Only one small issue, that really doesn't affect anything, and Lotus Engineering is working on a fix. The Rear Indicator fault message will occasionally display in the cluster for short periods of time. However, the indicator is actually not affected and still operates. Oddly, activating the indicator seems to clear the message.

Other than that small issue, its been completely issue free - and a hell of a lot of fun to drive.
