Wheel arch fasteners that don't connect to anything?

On my rear wheel arch liners there are fasteners that don't connect to anything. It's the same on both sides.

I'll try and link a video below.

If I lift them up, there's nothing underneath that they would seemingly attach to.
I either have a part not fitted at the factory and missing. Or some of the fasteners are essentially 'fake' and don't connect to anything and just hang there. Most of the other fasteners do connect to something.

Can someone confirm that all theirs actually attach?

I noticed the same thing on 2 of them i think on the rears (both sides) when i took the bumper off. Didnt make sense to me...but Lotus.

You never know with these cars if they are A) Broken B) Missing or C) Designed like that!

Out of curiosity, been out to look at mine. Driver's side appear to be attached to something whilst the passenger side isn't! :oops::eek:
 
I found some brackets missing in the interior of the car when I took it out to do soundproofing. There was one missing on the driver's side. I would call a parts dept (Gator) and have them check to see what type of bracket is supposed to be there for that rivet to press in to. I can't copy the page, but the repair manual shows a piece inside the inner fender where those rivets should attach to.
