Purosangue style wheels on an Emira.

Things I didn’t think I’d ever see.

What sizes and offsets did you get?

Eh... not my cup of tea... In general, I would not replicate any famous brand's own unique designs. There are a lot of good third party designs out there to reference. If I was taking the time to create something custom, I might as well build something unique. Not that my opinion matters - to each their own.

The wheels do look OEM if that was what you were going for… obviously, just not Lotus OEM.

To be perfectly honest I prefer these wheels to any of the Lotus wheels though… they just look like you swapped with a Ferrari 🤷🏽‍♂️

Most people out on the street will have no idea the correlation, and honestly, don’t bother with what other people think anyway. If YOU like them that’s what counts.

You took a risk not going with conservative rims.
But..

I like them, works with the curves of the car.

Did you get 20s or 21s? They look bigger
20s (again, illegal to change rim size in this country).

My design was quite a bit different than this but it was hard to convince the CAD model designer to do it my way, had to pay two fee hikes because my drawing was too complex (again deep in the supply chain so no real customer service here), but ultimately he went back mostly to the sample he already had in his computer. That said, I was able to keep the direction of the turbine reversed which now reads "L" (for LOTUS), and the "banner" portion is more of a machete than a banner. Played with multiple designs ranging from flowy ribbon, machete, scythe, even sword but ultimately settled with the machete. It did not come out quite the way I wanted but I gave up. After having to deal with some extensive CAD modeling from a past project, I knew the smart thing was to settle this time.

who would have thought, not hating. I like them.
And by the way the Purosangue wheel's "banner" fles ahead of the "pole".

ET values 8mm smaller, the rest is unchanged.

Yep! But these do look great. On the Emira. I think the Purosangue in general looks shit, but to each their own.

Could you take a photo with a little more light so we can see the detail?

If you showed me that wheel off the car, I would have said no way.

But…

I think it looks pretty dang cool! That wheel, plus hethel yellow with upper black pack, makes me think of Hot Wheels in the best possible way. Not Hot Wheels Edition Camaro.

I like ‘em! Job well done taking a design risk very few would!

There is something "organic" about the design of the Emira, hence I thought I'd try something organice versus the "industrial" look of the OEM rims...

I think this may come down to a cultural difference. I think in the US/England yellow with red interior and these wheels is a lot visually. But in Asia, this may work really well, I don't know.
