Emira Fiend
Anyone here track their Emira? If so, did you track the car 100% stock or did you upgrade parts? Particularly interested if you changed out the brake fluid, pads, tires, etc.

There is?I ran track mode. Never had an issue, car stepped out once or twice but I wasn't looking at the dash to see how many lights came on. There's still a full disable button for ESC and Traction even beyond putting into Track.
There is?
I have the Rotora from GRP. They do not work with EBC Bluestuff pads. I ripped serious grooves on the rotors after a few track days. Needed to have them resurfaced. I'm trying them now with harder pads. That seems better after one tough track day.Would like to hear about your track experience with after market rotors for track. I have used AP J-Hooks (front) and DBA (rear) for years on my GTR's, but not available for Emira. I have used other brands that didn't work well, and hopefully there will be some of you gain the experience of which rotor to go with for the Emira.
Girodisc rotors on my NSX have been the best I have ever used with their recommended track pads. Waiting for them to make them.Usually GiroDisc puts out left/right specific rotors for front and back, but they don't appear to b out yet. Typically, Inokinetic sells them once they are available. Hopefully GiroDisc or AP put out options soon.
What have you experienced differently with it off completely? I’m worried about oversteeringI ran track mode. Being totally unaware of all of this, a follow up QYes, if you look at the center screen, there's an option to completely turn off ESC under track mode.
This is what's referenced in the Drive Modes Explained thread:Being totally unaware of all of this, a follow up Q
What does Track do to ESC, that is therefore different to Sport mode? Its obviously still active in Track, or there would not be an additional button to turn it off completely.
Rears went that long.8 track days?! Wow. I haven't looked at my pads yet, but I know a couple different people who went through pads in 1 track day. I suspect I'm 3/4's in at this point.
My left rear pad wore out more than my right rear.
I've been going faster at the track. I've been running sport mode. I'm more comfortable after reading more about it. I think the car is doing way to much.
The first set of OEM pads lasted 8 or so track days. Then the aftermarket ceramic pads (not track pads) only lasted two days. But a far more bumpy track (Sebring). Then I'm going faster each time. I'm pretty sure the last 5% of braking does a 5x wear and tear on pads and rotors. I'll know more after this weekend.

For the first day, yes. Then I had Ethan for the afternoon last Sunday. Was Mike your instructor at Sebring?
Accurate. The thinner the pad gets the more heat transfer goes through the pads and into the calipers. This is how you melt caliper seals and warp rotors.
Most clubs have in their tech inspection sheet, min 7mm of pad to start a track day as you're likely to burn through the remaining material quickly (normal starting is 17mm-ish to 25mm in an enduro type setup).
Also, I'm one of the people that went through the OEM pads in a single day at Laguna Seca. It is a hard on brakes track. Would recommend when you swap to move to PFC (preferred), Pagid, or Hawk as a pad that can actually survive the track if you're going to keep going.
