I was watching this video from Bros Fourr Speed about replacing the stock side-view mirrors on his '24 Civic Type-R with polarized, wide-angle convex mirrors.

Since we don't have blind-spot monitoring for our Emira mirrors, I think this would be a great potential mod.

I'm curious what others think and if they know any vendors that might be able to help create something like that. I messaged Rexpeed (since that's the company that makes the ones in the video) and another company, OLM. Still waiting to hear back from Rexpeed but OLM straight up told me they don't do custom models for cars other than what they already have available.

Perhaps this is something @GRP could look into making? :)

Assuming the left side oem UK mirror glass will fit on the mirrors on the US cars, that will be both the easiest and best solution. (Since the left mirror is the passenger side in the UK, it will be convex.)

I've put oem RHD left-side mirror glass (either UK or Japan) on my NSX, 993, 300ZX, Prius wagon, and my now-sold GR Corolla. Works great.

Interesting, didn't know that was a thing!

Seems like a good solution. I tried locating the RHD passenger side mirror on the lotus website with no success. Can you send the link so I can order one?

Well, I don't have my Emira yet, so haven't looked into it. You should post a thread asking a UK owner to search out and post the part number for their UK left-side mirror glass. Then someone will have to buy one and see if it fits!

I did a quick search and found non-US convex left side mirror glass for Evoras, but no Emira mirror items showed up at all.

For some reason, no parts for the Emira show up on this website

Found this previous post that has a link to diagrams with part numbers.

Looks like there are several different convex glass mirrors for the left side.

My guess is the first listed, "convex glass," is the UK glass, and probably the most convex, because it's for the passenger side.

The EU and GCC and combo EU/GCC convex glass are probably mild blind spot mirrors for LHD cars in Europe and Middle East.

Of course, I could be wrong.

On my other cars, I've used the left mirrors for RHD versions (UK or Japan mirrors), and like that fine.

Also shows different "H/Pad" for flat and convex glass. Maybe that's the heating pad behind the glass? Or just the plastic backing plate with the mounting detail? For most cars, when you buy replacement glass, it's already attached to the plastic backing. Although maybe with more tech in mirrors these days (leds for blind spot warning, etc.) maybe the glass is sold separately.

Yeah, I had tried that web page and had the same unsuccessful result. I just sent them an e-mail enquiring about how to order the mirror, so let's see if they respond. Will send a post here with the outcome, if successful.
