Will today reveal IE F4 pricing?

Who in they're right mind would pick a antiquated, heavy V6 over the M139. Probably the most technologically advanced engine in the mainstream automotive world.
Whose who want long term reliability, tuneful engine note and low cost of service perhaps?

Me. #ForTheManual

Also bonus points for using ā€œthe most technologically advancedā€ here. ;)

I find Lotus positioning for the Emira very interestingā€¦.

On one hand, Lotusā€™s final ICE car and have access to AMG engines to show off ICE technology in final send off with an excellent DCT and the M139ā€¦. With ability to go to 500bhp reliably with a map - A hardcore GT4 racer surely is in the pipeline.

The other choice harking back to almost fully analogue driving with good old reliable SC Toyota V6 with manual transmission, which is going to phased out with emission standards SOON. #ForTheEnthusiasts

Tough choice - manual driving will be a thing of the past and some will always value it.
Pinnacle of ICE and DCT tech in a light compact package following the Lotus philosophy and that illustrious AMG badged Engine with one man one engine philosophy will also be highly regarded no doubtā€¦..

For me, itā€™s a sports car so going for the lightest and quickest.
Manual transmission, I will prob buy a decent hot hatch for the privilege - shame I missed out on the GR Yaris.

Hopefully the i4T will sound like "a jet fighter" and not like a "fart can". Time will tell.

Lotus can only do so much with it as the principle of "rubbish in, rubbish out" applies to the exhaust. So if the exhaust input received from the i4T catalytic isn't reasonably tuneful, then no exhaust will be able to create miracles. I would think that the smart thing to do would be to amplify induction noise and turbo boost sound (without the boost release valve flutter) to make it exciting that way.

I've ordered a V6S manual Emira (for some of the reasons I outlined above) and no regrets at all as it will be a keeper. But I would also be super interested in getting a 500+HP i4T Emira with DCT as a track weapon (whilst keeping the V6S of course!) to stick it to those GT4 RS drivers!

It's done, spec choice made, 2nd payment made, back to waiting, Winter delivery whatever that means.

Basically show car spec, it blew me away and I kept coming back to it. Very nearly Red.
My 1st deposit was 12th Julyā€¦.. I wonder when I will get to next stage?

So was mine. I went on the Lotus CS chat and asked if they could send me a link to configure and pay my second deposit for my FE I4. They did this straight away. I now feel a little happier, although I'm sure no closer to getting my car. And at present no date for delivery šŸ˜

If it follows the pattern for V6 FE, theyā€™ll work through deposit holders in date order. Roughly one week of calls per day of Goodwood, so 4-5 weeks from when calls start to get to you would be my hunch. Unless they change tack and just email everyone.

Calls were supposed to start on 8 April but weā€™re all now in the dark about what the process will be.

How many people do they have at their call center? Didn't they have something like 2,000 deposits just in the U.K.? Depending on how many people they have on the phones, that would take awhile to call that many people.

It was over 3500 deposits in the UK last time I asked and that was weeks and weeks ago, I suspect well over 5000 now.

Wow. How long is each conversation on the phone when they call you? Unless they have an army of people on the phones calling, it would take time to call that many people!

The phone call for the 2nd deposit was no more than a couple of minutes confirmed with a follow up email to configure my V6.

Funny you say that as they did mention trying to get through all the phone calls was challenging.

This waiting is easy for some people and Iā€™ve had patience up until now, but slowly beginning to lose it over time.

I will wait it out for this beautiful car no matter what but Iā€™m seriously considering pulling my deposit back for the Eletre as not sure I want to sit through another year of the unknown.

Iā€™m ok waiting - donā€™t really want the car in winter anyway. April 2023 will be perfect for me!

Aren't the electric vehicles going to be made in China? They tend to be better at mass production because of the size of their labor pool, although QC is always an issue with them unless there's strict oversight. From my experience with things I've bought, material quality standards aren't as high or consistent as you might find in the U.S. or Europe. Since Matt emphasized in the TG interview that quality, quality, quality was the focus, that bodes well for the electric vehicles. Hopefully they can deliver both quality and quantity in a timely manner.

I think once Lotus gets this new production process underway and gets some experience under their belt, things should improve. They really took on a big load to do everything at the same time; new car, new production facility, new production process, new paint system, etc. And of course, they're doing this in the middle of an international sh*tshow of epic proportions from governments, media, you name it.

I can be patient; right now quality sounds good.

Yes all the electric vehicles will be made in China in Wuhan (Yes that Wuhan) and as we know the Chinese don't mess around when it comes to production, lets just keep our fingers crossed that they maintain quality.

If you google it can see the facility they are building, very impressive I must say.

This end in the UK its all come to strong to fast for Lotus. i'm sure they will come good.

Let's hope they all don't come with another, unexpected surprise. šŸ˜·
