For me it was Magma Red the first day I heard about the Emira and went through the configurator - and it's Magma Red today. The other colors are all stunning in their own right, but I've always been partial to red as a color for a sports car. Orange is a close second, so if Chrome Orange was an option I'd be very torn, but alas it looks like I am not faced with that problem. Given that I am not in the FE allocation I might consider the Vivid Red too. We'll see....

Our last 5 cars have been all white. Before ordering The LC500, I wanted to be bold and go Red or Atomic Silver. But a white LC500 came in and I took it, since I thought it looked beautiful and didn't want to wait for 2022 since I would be charged a luxury tax. White was always second option, behind Infrared Red.

The Emira I thought the blue was really nice, but decided I will be different this time and not get white. The Yellow with black roof looked amazing, so was going to go that route to match my Z3. But after seeing a White Emira, I'm looking at yet again another white if it's available to order.

If white is not a color at the i4 launch, then I'd go yellow and wrap it in matte white. Or if it is, I may wrap it yellow. Haven't decided my intentions until that day gets here for me to pick.

Nice.
Always think getting a resale colour and then wrapping yellow is way to go for ease

I'll preface by saying that the below has been my colour journey and reflects my own personal preferences/tastes so I'm not picking on any colour here...

Initially I went straight for Seneca as I like blue cars, saw the show car photos and thought "wow, I gotta have one of those!". After a while I started getting a bit concerned with it being too light/powder blue in some photos. After seeing the painted samples in person I decided that I wanted a richer metallic fleck and a colour that wasn't so "look at me" or "fad" that might go out of vogue in a couple of years.

So the longer I thought about Seneca, the initial "wow" of the showcar started changing to "it won't age well", but I could well be wrong!

Dark green and flat yellow aren't my thing so that left three colours remaining.

Magma interested me as I like red cars too, but I would prefer a bright red and didn't want a maroon shade that may have a brownish hue in certain lighting. I also like silver so considered Nimbus, but on real-world inspection of the sample discs I was put off by it being a creamy/beige silver. Brownish shades of any colour are just not my thing. Maybe when I'm an old bugger with arthritis it will be. :D

So I ended up with what's arguably the least popular colour (Shadow Grey) which I'm actually really really happy with. I think it will look elegant/masculine without being overly "look at me", should age well and doesn't need a black pack to look its best (avoiding a scratchy flat black roof). It should also really pop in the Aussie sun exposing some of the hidden blue fleck that isn't visible in the shade. As a bonus, based on colour polls to date, there will be very few of them around making them more exclusive!

I've only owned white, black, and silver/grey cars in the past (I know, so adventurous), so I made a decision to venture into a different space for the Emira. I've always loved blue cars.
I had the exact same evolution of perspective on Seneca blue as Digilotus - loved the reveal and was completely set on the color but the more pictures I saw, the more I suspected that the actual color is lighter than I initially thought. After seeing the paint samples in person, the hue is rather in between the 2 data points I set in my mind. Although beautiful, its not quite as deep of a metallic blue as I was hoping for and its also not a sky/powder blue either.

Looking at Hethel yellow and Magma red, they both look quite stunning in their own ways; there's a lot to say about each of these colors, but long story short, my multi-month battle was between Seneca blue and Hethel yellow. After I saw the China showroom photos and the 2nd configurator update, it confirmed that the yellow has more orange in hue than initially expected, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I've since settled on yellow.

That said, I didn't make the first round of allocations. If I don't get my hands on an FE, I suppose I'll be growing some more grey hair debating the new color options on the v6 Base.

Originally picked Hethel. Sticking with Hethel.

Do any of you realize just how few manufacturers can get yellow right?

Lotus is but one of four (the other three being Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini) that I know of that can do a good yellow.

Always been Hethel yellow for me too since I first saw the car. What I'm struggling with is the interior, Alcantara (safe) or red leather (bold), having never had a new car before and therefore never having been able to make these choices myself, and possibly never going to buy new again, I'm currently of the "to hell with it" mindset and going for the red (with red calipers too!). If you are going to show off then SHOW OFF.

When the original configurator came out (how long ago does that feel now) I was all in for Dark Verdant, it was a great colour. Then I saw

Mid life crisis yellow all the way. Too many metallic colors in my prior history. Already have red (Imola Red E46 M3) and blue (San Marino Blue F80). I would totally get a Metallic green but Verdant is too dark and I think it will hide the black accents plus constantly show dirt.

How dare you insinuate my DV FE will have any dirt as a result of my garage being dirty. For this is where the vehicle will remain, according to this forum, due to gas prices. Forever.

:)

I’m also willing to say going BP on the DV. How dare I? Again, going to be a boujee vehicle, likely enjoying a bath of glowing bulbs from various brands in typical garage lighting fashion.

I’ll take 0 productive pics and post all of them for the world to argue. Is that dirt or a black emblem? Is that black?

Furthermore, when it does find its way outside of the fancy garage for which it will call home, dare I say it will float and never touch the ground. According to this forum the price suggests it should have an anti-gravity feature (but not ADAS).

Also, how could I even approach a garage exit with the seat, according to this forum, being an extreme 20 (insert foreign measurement here) high?

Dare you suggest this vehicle will even be produced to have such dirt? According to this forum, and zero Simpsons episodes, the car will not even exist.

I rest my case. Your witness.

slightly similar for me. If met white is not in the I4FE I’m going yellow

While I had numerous ‘Oh God, is DV, SB or Magma better?’ etc moments as the Configurator changed and I lived precariously on a drip feed of snaps from UK reveals, Hethel was always my first choice. A yellow Ferrari 355 always lurking in my colour thinking.
However, like Gizmo750 the interior has been serious pain. I always wanted a brown interior and agonised over tan or black leather. The tan won out but then someone posted a N/R for it against Hethel from Lotus.
Now it’s what the hell. McLaren sell cars with boring to outrageous interiors so I’m sticking with tan. Oh, and red brakes.

Good on ya Andy! You are not alone. There are a few of us in team yellow & tan and, as you say, what’s good enough for other exotics is surely good enough for the Emira’s curves…

I initially got sucked in by the Seneca launch car colour scheme, flirted with the idea of Nimbus, but really want something bold(ish) rather than another dark/grey car in a history of dark/grey cars (bright-red-shopping-cart-with-loud-exhaust as a yoof nothwithstanding).

Currently tossing up how bold I can actually live with after the initial rush wears off. I feel confident at this point I want to get the car built as Seneca without black back, achieve black pack roof look via PPF/wrap, and then the real decision is to either clear PPF it, or wrap (spray-on PPF) it in something along the lines of Lotus Toxic Green or McLaren Napier Green... something in the vicinity of a "lime" green, as appears on the GT4 Emira pics... or possibly some other colour I spot between now and delivery time, because once you go custom, you've just opened the door to Total Choice Paralysis 🤯

So yeah, I may break out several dice at the eleventh hour :)

All i can say is, glad we are all on the same boat. Thank goodness for wraps/ppf.

Spray on PPF in a color like those would be awesome. I don’t know anyone who’s ever had spray PPF or any shops that install it however. Not a fan of wraps because of easy damage and limited protection.

I have not found many cars where the quality of the wrap is really high. Usually looks rubbery/plasticky.

Maybe I'd consider for certain panels like the black pack equivalent. If you are going to spend 4-5k in a wrap, then wait a bit and order bespoke paint for 8-10k.
