Lotus UK offloading cars to this non Lotus dealership?

During the latest earnings call, Lotus Technology said that during Q4 they would actively clear out their stock of vehicles, including via discounting to wholesalers, so that they can be "clean" and have no discounting in 2025 when they launch the TYP 134.

This overhang of vehicles is mostly just a UK issue. You can see why UK dealers like B&C have terminated their contract with Lotus . . . how the hell do you run a dealership when this is happening?!

we’re not seeing this in the US. Maybe a combination of the emira being released earlier in the UK so the buying pool has soaked up demand plus depressed economics impacting high dollar car purchases?

Agreed on many of the Eletres, but the Emiras are clearly not 'stock' as most have 0000s of miles on.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lotus dealers were offered the cars but they have stock not selling sitting on the forecourt already so refused.

These are priced reasonably!!!! Pretty much every colour combo someone could want! This would have been an unreal place to go and look at when choosing colour!!! :)

I still haven't seen my colour/specification in the second hand market place including this lot.

They are but effing up prices for everyone else.

FFS. Almost my exact spec of i4 with minimal mileage and £18K less. My "I don't care, it's a keeper" philosophy is being severely tested now.

I used Auto100 to buy my Emira about 3 months ago. If there was another dealer with the spec I had wanted and a comparable price, I'd have avoided Auto100 like the plague.

Looks like quite a few AMG 2.0 cars. Anyone know the relative sales numbers? If these are "problem" cars, I wonder why the AMG 2.0 cars seem to be over representing if we assume that sales have been less than the V6 due to less time on market.

My Guess is a manual mid-engined sports car is fairly rare. Only option is Emira and Cayman. Once you go into DCT/Auto there is a bit more options (alpine A110); including some very good used examples of Mclaren.

Rarity of manual mid-engine is most likely the reason. Personally I would have a hard time choosing a new i4 over a used 650s in the UK.

Why is that? Did you have a bad experience with them?
It was not great. Came across as them doing you the favour, of talking to you. On the day of pickup, no V5 doc, no 2nd key, which took 3 months to resolve and that was only when I suggested they either give me the contact at Lotus they had supposedly been dealing with(something they had refused to do numerous times previously) or to pay for a 2nd key that I would source from my local dealership.
None of the communication with them was initiated by them, everything had to be initiated by me. Overall lousy service

Not something I would plan on putting myself through again, unless the deal was just too good to ignore

Almost exactly my experience.

By chance did you deal with a guy with the initials CS? How long ago were you dealing with them, mine was August onwards
I delt with C S, total B S merchant, full of promises that were never delivered also 1 key no log book and finance paperwork totally wrong (in their favour by a long way) so anyone else dealing with this lot make sure you read the documents before signing.
P.S.
They tried to make me sign for the car before delivery and seeing the car, no way was i purchasing under pressure.

Just been told by Lotus Colchester that I can only get a key from the dealer that I bought the car from? Surely that’s not right as Auto100’s tell me they can’t get keys and only authorised Lotus dealers can????

Totally wrong. I bought mine from Auto100 and got the 2nd key from Hendy Lotus in Eastleigh.
I would also make sure that Auto100 pay for the 2nd key. They did for mine
