Anyone seen this before?

It's the top edge of the rear quarter panel behind the door.

This look like masking tape/material leftover when the panel was repainted. Is this a used car or are you the original owner
I'm the second owner. It's an ex dealer car and the doors have just been painted.
I bet this could be masking tape from blending into the rear quarter. Good idea!

Painted by whom? If that has come from a Loyus dealership I'd be screaming at them. Was the work done under warranty or just a respray over existing doors?

Yes warranty work by Lotus dealer for the common paint blistering issue (though I'm sure they outsource the work to a local body shop).

The paint is not the worst part, it's the loose door trim and wind noise from removing and refitting all the door trims.

Yeah that definitely looks like some extra material that was there before paint and just needs to be pulled out. I would use a razor to cut any paint connecting the car from the tape before pulling.

Contact them and organise for them to correct and refit the doors. Were the doors replaced?

Just some masking tape stuck to the unpainted back of the door? Should be able to carefully remove it.
