so sorry to hear this. I mean it's disappointing for those of us waiting for but I can't imaging spending that much time into a project to have it pulled from under you
@anothersportscar I definitely like them but the ones shown above on the Emira don't go all the way up. Do you know why? Looking at their website, they have lots of examples on driver and passenger side where the mat extends up in the footwell.
Connecting into the existing wiring is what is required and thankfully @KJWEmira has done that work. It comes as part of a kit that you can buy from him. Mine arrives in a couple days and I will be installing all new speakers plus a new active sub. Can't wait
I've been probably 40+ days and never experienced an on track incident, the two I mentioned happened when I wasn't there. Always a personal choice on risk and how much at ease it puts someone. Just let me know when you are going to be on track as your % is higher than I like and I should avoid...
Track insurance is one of those interesting topics ... for some, it puts them at ease knowing they have backup. For novice, I wouldn't bother. The Ridge has excellent run offs and as long as you aren't driving hard in the rain (i.e. hydro plane potential) then it's really a safe track ... same...
I do lots of track days at both locations, PR is terrible IMO and too many incidents. Will miss The Ridge next month as I am taking the BMW Adv M School but will be at ORP in mid Apr but not with HOD. Look forward seeing some Emira's out there this year
I just video this exact thing and showed pulling out all the speakers, applying soundproof. waiting for kit and then all the components to install. will video that as well. so at some point I'll be able to upload. it actually was pretty simple ... but getting that stupid seat unplugged was a...
Will do, something like a lowprofile 8" sub (i.e. Eton USB 8AR, Kicker hideway, etc), Audison amp, not sure which 6.5/5 yet ... need to before I get the kit
I'm in the process of replacing the audio system as it is terrible IMO for this level of car. What they call a sub is hilarious and weighs like a pound :-) I am buying the kit from kjwemira to install some proper speakers ... separate tweeter, 6.5', 5", low profile sub, and an amp. I can't...
