yes, some other threads with discussion. I experience this ..... the phone works flawlessly on all our other cars and only has intermittent issues with the Emira. I've just accepted using wired
so sorry to hear this. I mean it's disappointing for those of us waiting for but I can't imaging spending that much time into a project to have it pulled from under you
@anothersportscar I definitely like them but the ones shown above on the Emira don't go all the way up. Do you know why? Looking at their website, they have lots of examples on driver and passenger side where the mat extends up in the footwell.
Connecting into the existing wiring is what is required and thankfully @KJWEmira has done that work. It comes as part of a kit that you can buy from him. Mine arrives in a couple days and I will be installing all new speakers plus a new active sub. Can't wait
I've been probably 40+ days and never experienced an on track incident, the two I mentioned happened when I wasn't there. Always a personal choice on risk and how much at ease it puts someone. Just let me know when you are going to be on track as your % is higher than I like and I should avoid...
Track insurance is one of those interesting topics ... for some, it puts them at ease knowing they have backup. For novice, I wouldn't bother. The Ridge has excellent run offs and as long as you aren't driving hard in the rain (i.e. hydro plane potential) then it's really a safe track ... same...
I do lots of track days at both locations, PR is terrible IMO and too many incidents. Will miss The Ridge next month as I am taking the BMW Adv M School but will be at ORP in mid Apr but not with HOD. Look forward seeing some Emira's out there this year
I just video this exact thing and showed pulling out all the speakers, applying soundproof. waiting for kit and then all the components to install. will video that as well. so at some point I'll be able to upload. it actually was pretty simple ... but getting that stupid seat unplugged was a...
Will do, something like a lowprofile 8" sub (i.e. Eton USB 8AR, Kicker hideway, etc), Audison amp, not sure which 6.5/5 yet ... need to before I get the kit
I'm in the process of replacing the audio system as it is terrible IMO for this level of car. What they call a sub is hilarious and weighs like a pound :-) I am buying the kit from kjwemira to install some proper speakers ... separate tweeter, 6.5', 5", low profile sub, and an amp. I can't...
It was definitely a painful 1000miles keeping it low rpm and tour mode ... I was so excited when I was crossing over 1000 that I wanted to video tape the cross over and let 'er rip. I forgot to hit start :-)
@boisecrawfords I've thought about this but worried about the quality. I wrapped an ABS splitter with CF and spent a couple days with layering resin and then 2k clear. It looks good enough but not where I would sell them. If you have experience in this space and if legit then I'm game
yes that is the longer answer :-)
I do know two people that have had a run in with a car manufacturer wanting to deny a claim (GM) because of some aftermarket parts but they both referenced the MM Warranty law/regulation/whatever its called and they backed down. Lots of examples that are...
Well, the short answer is that they have to prove the issue that you are trying to get covered under warranty is directly caused by the 3rd cat delete. I can't think of anything that actually would be a potential .... but dealers can be difficult and try to make it hard on you.
I did mine in...
@KJWEmira Thanks for the honest response. I assumed that was the case but maybe was hoping for something different :-) I already have everything apart getting to the seatbelts and would be a great time to do this. I haven't done audio upgrades since I was in college so that was quite a while...
@KJWEmira To me, this is not a very good system compared to many other vehicles I own/have owned. I was thinking of upgrading the front/rear speakers (with the 3d brackets) and adding tweeters BUT not adding an additional amp nor replacing the 'sub'. I don't spend enough time in the car to...
GRP fits good but not perfect. Although to be honest I did not take pics of the before so can't confirm the fit and finish of the plastic pieces - I didn't want to reinstall since you have to unscrew all the pegs. There were some gaps but of all the people I've shown it to, no one noticed and...
Those fees are really high extra dealer padding/profit. Usually, if you buy out of state and transport it (not drive it off the lot) then the dealer has the option of sending it to you and let you do all the registration/taxes or they can process it for you.
In the last 3 years, I've bought...
Same thing with me. I have an S22 and using wireless it will constantly connect/disconnect. On four other cars with same phone in same areas never have an issue so it's limited only to the Emira. If I connect wired then I have only had one disconnect in 1000 miles. I've just accepted using...
As @scc.131.fe referenced there is another lengthy thread on insurance but I'll give my data point although it really doesn't matter as so many factors differ for everyone. Mine is right around $1000 for 100/300/100/ 500D
Glad you got it resolved as I had similar situation about a month ago. I keep the seat all the way back because I can't open the door but a little to slide in ..... so it was quite the chore to reach in with one arm and fiddle around to pop off the panel. Definitely not the best design
Concur with you on the tires. I went through two sets of the 4s last year (different car obviously) and overall is a great tire in many conditions. While I would prefer to have Cup2 for the track, I'm ok with loosing 1-2s to save $500 :-) It helps that I get a decent discount through my...
I did not use the pipe extender. I measured before hand and the delta was less than 1/32nd. After install, on one side there was a very very slight gap ... enough to slip a piece of paper into part way. I left it as is for now.
The hardest part for the VC was fitting it into the recessed...
Just completed three mods ... have to say the car sounds SOOOOO much better and is more punchy (I think that is the best way to describe). It might be a placebo effect but it definitely seems to just hit a bit harder.
Pulled out the stock CAI and replaced it. While I like the 'looks' of...
I have 7 so does help provide discounts for multi. Am super happy with the rate on the Lotus looking at some of the 2-3x that others are paying .... feel very fortunate.
I've been going out every day or so trying to make small adjustments each time to see how it goes. I can tell you after LOTS of 30-60m drives I think I've experienced most possible configs :-) I cannot get 100% comfortable like I can in all my other cars, it is really bizarre to me. At this...
Funny as I was thinking the same thing. I'm still in the break-in period so easy driving in tour mode but it's always 200F. Today was sub 50F outside and it dropped down to 197 for a couple secs but then right back to 200. I realize it's normal but I would have thought it would have a lower...
