So I have read numerous threads of people (on here and elsewhere) that Android Auto keeps disconnecting with no fixes.. This happens probably 10+ times for me on a 45 minute drive and I have to open spotify hit the play button, then tap the Android Auto icon on the infotainment 4-5 times and then it restarts..

Anyone know of a fix for this yet? Anyone get an update from the dealership that helped?

I am using a S23 Ultra with the latest updates.

Thanks
Ryan G

I think the issue is really down to other radio signal interference. You probably notice that it always disconnects in the same place with some regularity.

I can think of at least 3 intersections that if I stop or don't just breeze through, I will get some kind of interruption. One of those is a car dealership.

Likely this is bad signal/emf management by the business, but it's not like you'll get the FCC down to fine/fix it. If the lotus info system is using a specific radio trans-receiver and that's the issue, software stands little chance of fixing it.

You may find this is an Android Auto issue, not an Emira one.
Reading a number of news articles about AA, the issue is quite widespread with numerous people complaining about the issue.
Google are allegedly working on a fix, but they have been saying that for some time and the last release was supposed to have fixed it, but obviously didnt.
To confirm if Tomwa's observations are correct, try it wired and see if the issue persists
If I can find one of the articles, I'll post it here

I have a Samsung S24 which randomly disconnects on me in my Emira, the only "solution" so far has been to connect via USB. A few months back I was in Europe for 3 weeks and rented a Mercedes.....ZERO AA disconnects in well over 2,000 km of driving. Same Samsung phone yet totally different experiences in the Emira vs the Mercedes.

But you were also in a radically different radio frequency environment. The disconnection events that seem to happen to most people correlate strongly with locations of strong RF fields, for example at toll booths that support EZpass.

Ironically I've never had a disconnect at any toll station with iPass/EZpass here in Chicagoland.

I have noticed that within the 5 minutes after starting up the Emira consistently results in a prolonged disconnect. I get in the car, everything is working great for a few minutes and then boom disconnect and unable to reconnect for at least a minute or two. Super annoying......

Other disconnects seem to be random with zero correlation to location which I can identify. Some days zero glitches and yet other days on the exact same route multiple disconnects.

When connected via USB there are of course zero issues. Considering the relatively tight quarters for the WiFi hotspot being leveraged by Android Auto, it just doesn't seem likely simple interference is the answer here.

That's super strange. I don't have that experience with my Pixel 8 at all, but I do have occasional drops in particular high RF areas when I'm on road trips.

With a reproducible issue like that, it seems like something that the dealer could look at and try to resolve. There may be an issue with your Wi-Fi module in the car or something.

Same thing with me. I have an S22 and using wireless it will constantly connect/disconnect. One four other cars with same phone in same areas never have an issue so it's limited only to the Emira. If I connect wired then I have only had one disconnect in 1000 miles. I've just accepted using the cable to keep me from getting frustrated :)
