10mm hubcentric spacers

So I know people didn't think it was possible for hubcentric spacers at 10mm. But here is proof.

Got these from crestima (thanks again).

Putting them on Saturday. I just think 12mm sticks out just a hair too much on the front so I wanted 10mm. I might buy the 12mm for the rear of it bothers me but I'll see what I think once they are in.

10mm hub centric is absolutely possible -- you're just giving up 2mm of hub extension to fit into your wheel bore. That's fine as the hub extension used to hold the wheel on anyways, it just provides a centering interface.

I don't know what they originally went for or where to get them as I got them from @crestima .. He can hopefully let everyone know..

I didn't like the 12mm in the front as I felt they stuck out just a tad too much.. I didn't plan on lowering the car so I am going with this for now.

Sorry I can't help here with where to get them.

I bought 12mm spacers from GRP. I think 2mm difference would be hardly noticeable by eye

Hi Guys, I am running my GRP hubs centric spacers for a month or two now and the car unfortunately started to vibrate again at around 110kmph. Did anyone has experienced the same?

@GRP could you please assist or advise how to work around this? Thanks

Twist the wheel back and forth as you snug the lug bolts up by hand. You should be able to repeatedly "un-bind" the bolts to allow more tightening by hand until they are almost fully seated. If you don't do this, you'll tighten the wheel slightly off center and cause the vibration.

I installed 6 months ago the GRP BOE 5mm spacers (Non hub centric) and had the same experience after 1 month. Vibration between 152 and 165 km/hr. On trips over 200kms vibration is reduced though, but then it comes back.
I ordered from GRP the new 15 mm spacers hub centric and going to give it a try. Hopefully they will be installed correctly and no vibrations, as per @Porter advise. Will let you know in a couple of months

Make sure that your hub, hub lip, spacer and all surfaces, as well as your wheel bore are all clean and free of any dirt/corrosion/etc.

You really shouldn’t be getting any vibration from hub centric spacers if all of those surfaces are clean. If you are, it might be something else like your wheels.

@kitkat Anything in particular to clean those with? Dawn dish soap and water? Something in particular? I am installing my spacers tomorrow, so would love to know.

I use a soft wire brush on the wheel hub/rotor/lip, and then I scrub the inner wheel bore and spacer with a sponge, nothing abrasive there.

I would start with what Kitkat has mentioned above. Verify all surfaces are clean or clean them well and reinstall.
The hubcentric spacers should have no chance of vibration, if this started out of the blue after running them for a month or two it may be something wheel weight related.

You may already know all this or have your own preferred technique, but when installing spacers, I also suggest making sure the 5 threaded bolt holes on the hub are properly aligned/centered with the corresponding spacer holes. Since spacer holes are generally larger than the diameter of the lug bolt threaded shaft, placing pieces of masking tape between the hub and the spacer around its perimeter helps to keep the centered spacer from moving while you re-install the wheel. Just make sure that none of the masking tape gets wedged between the spacer and hub disc. I also recommend getting a Wheel Hanger (example of one pictured below from Amazon). It's an inexpensive tool that greatly facilitates the wheel's removal/installation , and helps protect it from accidental scratches and abrasions.



Tighten the lug nuts first by hand, then finish tightening them with a torque wrench in a star pattern to the Emira's spec torque of 105Nm and then remove the masking tape. Hope you find these tips useful.
