Brake cooling ducts

Considering the cost of the Jubu brake cooling ducts (Overpriced IMO), has anyone considered installing brake cooling ducts made for other cars? GT3 for example? A lot more reasonably priced. Seen a lot of forums where it's being installed on Meganes, 86s etc

Yeah, I've seen the track rats talking about fluid temps, but nobody is complaining about fade from overheating.

yep, planning to change to motul rbf660 but considering air temps in sydney AU can reach 40C, cooling ducts should help as well.
 
I ran many Dubai track nights during summer (40⁰c and up) and never experienced any type of fade with zero cool down laps. Running Motul and Jubu pads. Rotors are getting pretty cracked now though but that is with roughly 40 track days. Third set of tyres and now third set of pads. Would be interested in a cheaper alternative for cooling just for the sake of it though if anyone has ideas.

Yeah, because of the super-charger cooler in the front on i think the passenger side? this would work up front. The little deflector plate in back would still work.

You might be able to stick a scoop in the front to steal air from the heat-exchanger, then try to run a hose/snorkel up out of the way. Not an impossible task, but an annoying one given how hard it is to mock things up and work behind the bumper.

Also worth noting. Those cooling duct tubes are wear items. On cars that see track use you can assume they are examining and replacing them like once a year.

On a car that is being daily driven and occasionally sees track use? They probably won't be in good condition when you do actually go to use the car hard.

I'm pretty sure this is why Porsche and Jubu offerings to bring air to the brakes are just deflectors attached to control arms that see free underbody air. Maintaining, securing, those hoses is not trivial.

Agree, Exactly why I only want the deflectors at non-JUBU prices
