.I really personally cut Lotus a ton of slack. The global supply chain has been in bits for the past 18 months. Covid impacted their own workforce. They are trying to open a new factory to produce a new model.

I would understand if they said dealer demo's were not F/E cars, but perhaps a base version or a mix of different options. But once they placed the F/E bade on it, threw that idea out the window. Just a very odd way to go about things. If they didn't have all the parts for dealer demo's no problem, just don't call it a full production F/E. Honestly have to wonder who makes these decisions at Lotus?
There has been three EU deliveries with mesh in Belgium... So who knows. Very odd. I will hold judgement on the screen until I see it. It may not be 100K worthy for a 2024 model year vehicle. Im sure you can take that plastic cover off... in reality I would be taking the grille off the UK car if it still has one and not a blanking plate....
The screen isnt too bad, but I still don't think its up to standard for 100k $ car.. sorry @Lotustoronto , but time will tell...
bonnet strip looks reasonable... common sense and manufacturer got there in the end...
Supply chain I understand, delay's and parts shortage, staffing etc... But when a dealer receives a first edition model missing a major design element - even outlined in the options online - without knowing why or that it was arriving like that, is just poor communication.

I think Hyundai (ok more so Genesis) have very good interior quality. KIA at least in our market is placed below. All I can think about is the video of you moving the climate controls around... I would expect at least a Volvo level of finish, since it's mostly from their parts bin.
As both versions exist on production cars delivered by Lotus to dealers, it would suggest you'll be able to buy the parts for both versions from Lotus Aftersales and be able to convert from one to the other fairly easily.

Fair enough Tom. I would happily accept that answer, makes total sense. But how do you deliver a car to a dealer / customer and not tell them in advance? There is obviously a logical answer to the question of the mesh grilles, the fact that the people receiving the cars do not know why is shocking.
Yes, i take on board what you are saying. My point is, dont tell me, a number of times, something is going to happen and then it doesn't. ie, in November i was told definitely delivery in June. This was after definitely March, then April/May, then May/June. All i am saying is be straight with me, if it is going to be October then say that from the start.
You're assuming they knew what they were telling you wasn't true when they said it. I highly doubt that's the case. The answers they were giving out were what they thought was going to happen at the time. The lockdown/supply issues have been an absolute roller coaster. I can only imagine what it's been like behind the scenes.
We continue to be surprised that dealers and customers aren't being told key information by Lotus. But really, we should all be used to that happening by now!

I know nothing, but the Emira is not that different from an Evora regarding structure, so, personally I would be surprised if this was the case….. time will tell
Surely the basic running gear of an Emira is similar to an Evora 400. I dont remember any problems getting parts for that car when in production.
In all fairness they didn't really require much volume.. few hundred steering wheels a year or so? The Emira will probably surpass Evora 2021 production in the last 3 months of 2022 in the middle of a supply chain issue.
Well at the moment I would be happy with the last few years production figures of 1600 per year to start with. So lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet thinking about Matt Windle's projected figures of 4800 per year for Emira.
