My GR86 had these stupid fake sounds. There was a separate module for it that was easy to unplug. I did the day after I got it home. The dealer could also turn it off in their software. Disappointing to hear Lotus is doing this.
Reread this and noticed this. I didnt think there was a low oil warning light on the V6 (should be one). I know the AMG has a elec dipstick so should have one..edit: it comes up as a message warning on the AMG.
The manual says there is only a low oil pressure warning but no level warning. (v6)...
Been 1 year ago today (Pretty sure) since the US dealers were told they could sell the cars..after a long CARB wait. I got mine a year ago on March 6th. Just rolled over 3k miles Saturday. Only (1 temporary ESC limp mode) quirk in first year.
Mine sometimes works and sometimes doesnt backing into the garage with a slight incline. Its random. Not sure on steeper inclines as it also seems intermittent.
There is no light (on the manual v6) that comes on like in other cars to say its working/active. I dont believe you can turn it off or...
On #2. I've had a '23 GR86 and have a 24 Tacoma. Car play works whether the car is moving or not. Never heard of that.
#1. Pretty sure neither had that issue either.
The Emira CarPlay is not locked out if the car is moving or any mode once its working.
It is not possible to swap the exhaust tips ( i did it and looked for a work around) without full bumper removal. The problem is the crash pad foam under the bumper which covers several items for the tips. Its really not a bad job to do just idiotic Lotus designed the tips that way.
See...
Are those pics before you did the oil filter change? Was there any drips on the ground to indicate any drips? I had oil on the bottom of my filter like that after the filter change but it is because i lubed the o-ring seal too well it weaped down to the bottom like that but went away after...
Have always been a fan and lusted after the 12C, P1 and now the 720/750s. The ownership costs have deterred that on used ones I could afford.
The Artura is nice looking but I think the Emira actually looks better except maybe the back. And the cool doors of course.
Seeing this thread reminded me I got some new shoes to try. I got them (I think $25) on flash Christmas sale on Amazon. I wear a 13 so find normal shoes a bit wide to wear as I'm hitting the gas accidently when braking. These are maybe 1/4 inch narrower than the Chuck Taylors I had been...
I think you have it backwards. Crestima said his build was 11/23 and mine is 12/23. I think the holes like mine are there on newer ones. Water definitely runs out of there after washing the car and someone else had video of it. If someone with a much newer build could look that would help...
My blue photo (my VIN 11320 build 12/23). :) Sometimes those grommets (on other cars too) are also used for tooling access to remove things internally to the door. (regulators etc) Seems like I remember looking at the service manual and those plugged holes seem like they were used for that...
The MR2 wont be more capable than the Supra and it wasnt really a real competitor to the Emira. Might hurt sales if offered somewhat the same experience but rumors are it will be pure EV (hope not) so no real manual.
Been watching new MR2 development as I had a 93 turbo. All of these photos are...
Did you put a multimeter on it to see if any volts? Sometimes trickle chargers wont charge a really flat battery if not over a few volts. A jump pack shouldve worked though so it may have internal continuity issues now. Remove from the car and use a good battery charger with a desulfating...
After a certain VIN number the EVAP water shields were added from the factory. Given yours was built recently it should have had it installed then.
It was supposed to be a short term fix until they designed the components to be more water resistant. May not be your issue as it primarily...
Can you remove the front underbelly pan and push it from the back in enough to get back into place? Hard to tell if its damaged too badly.
Time2Fly has a good info in front bumper removal and the pains involved and what was missing from the service manual. Pretty sure he had remove the front...
Doesnt appear to have a check engine light. Did that not come on?
Try to access your menu/messages on your display that says when service is due to see what that says as well. Never seen an "engine" service message....just service. Hopefully just a glitch in software. Def report to dealer.
It has been a recall for a while for earlier cars and my dealer installed mine under recall. Cars since a certain VIN have had it installed at the factory. Its a bridge type thing until they design a housing that is 'waterproof'...
I'm 6'5" I had a GR86 and it was as tight a fit as the Emira for me. Actually harder to tuck your head in. My wife really liked the RF and we went and did a test fit. No way I could even drive and be comfy. I couldnt even fit in the passenger side.
Youll probably have to get some (fresh from the car best) on your finger and maybe smudge it on white paper to tell a color. I'd ask the dealer to maybe try to get to it sooner than January if possible since this may qualify as a 'breakdown' and not a nitpick thing.
If power steering fluid or trans fluid it should be red looking. I would check your oil anyway though. I dont believe there is low oil level sensor (V6), just a low oil pressure light you never want to see. Looks like a substantial leak as well and wouldnt recommend driving esp since you say...
Sounds like a car that was never titled/registered so its technically new but probably a dealer test drive demo car. I'd been super upset as well and would absolutely reject the car. No way you know how hard those 300+ miles were given how bad the condition is.
I found it hard to believe as well but yes the bumper needs to come off to do it. The foam is sandwiched between the bumper and car body. That foam covers one of three tip mounting bolts. Seems like there was another trim piece that come off with that bolt too where you need the bumper off.
Its...
I wouldve made the same mistake but saw Dragoons helpful video before removing diffuser for exhaust tip swap.
You actually dont need to remove the diffuser at all either as part of an oil change.
Most cars (not EVs) work that way. Its running the warmed up coolant through a heater core (small radiator basically). Blows the air over that to get the warm air.
You can use the seat warmers to feel a bit of heat until that point (if not wearing a thick coat etc)
I had the exact thing happen to mine. The light never came on in first 7 months. Disconnected the battery for the first time to do steering wheel buttons and the light came on. Drove the car and it wouldnt go off until restarted it after driving. This was consistent several times if sat for...
Also heard high speed rated tires can not be patched/repaired. I took a Z rated tire to Discount tire under warranty and they said they would patch it no problem. Other times ( I think Firestone) the shop said no to a patch.
If you're not doing sustained high speed runs the tire should be fine...
Dealers usually dont know first and will say anything to look smart. When the V6 got approval I was the 1st one to let my dealer to know it was approved after seeing it on FB and here. They didnt find out officially for 2 days after that.
Your first pic that shows the shield in place looks quite different (better) than my install by dealer (2 posts up). LHD and RHD differences aside. The folds and fitment is different.
Dont think mine has that reservoir labeled power steering on cap in front of the cabin/pollen filter either. On...
Just had the AC 'shield' thing done and was tracking down a possible issue in the cowl. (see NA prob thread) Was curious also for a better view (both sides) of the shield too. Here is a better view of it. Basically a large flap of plastic. I slightly improved the folds to channel water away and...
ESC/Reduced power lights. No CEL
Drove the car from home about 15 mins. Completely normal with not pushing the car at all. Got off interstate and were stopped at exit ramp red light.
Wife and I both heard a faint sound (prob 1 second) like when have a piece of gravel rattling in the wheel well...
I wear a 13 and had probs sometimes with normal width shoes hitting the gas a bit when i was trying to brake. The offset gear box doesnt help on where to keep feet. It takes getting used to for sure.
I bought a pair of basic Amazon driving loafers/shoes but found them very uncomfortable to walk...
