North American Emira Problem Thread

Think this this might be related to the water? After reading several threads and posts it seems water is the cause of most of what we are dealing with. Take the heater resistor. I think it is the weak link in the system, so that is what is failing first, but the water intrusion is the main cause. In another thread I was reading water was getting to the ECU and I think O2 sensors...I think he had one replaced like three times and a new ECU fix it. All due to water (I believe rear hatch area).

In the A/C issue thread there is one guy in the UK the dealer has installed basically a gutter to keep the water out of the HVAC unit...under the hood. It is a pretty recent post, so it is easy to find. This is what I hope is being relayed to other dealers here in the US so we can get it implemented ASAP...otherwise the cars may have corrosion and electrical issues.

My build date is same as yours...absolutely nuts these issues not resolved before now. I am waiting to get mine back and share what's going on to maybe help others here out. Car has now been at the dealer more than in my garage, 3 weeks and counting.
Yeah I think it’s related to the water. Had it parked in the driveway and it unexpectedly poured over night too so in addition to my car wash it def got wet last night.

But yes also crazy that it’s occurring so I gotta believe that they’ll be a fix from lotus to water proof these things

Agree with this but it’s mind boggling. How could waterproofing not be part of road testing the car? Plenty of rest cars have been driven through the rain. They must have come across this before releasing…

Issue - clutch pedal clicks on release. Not a big deal, really just an annoyance. I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue. If yes, did you find a fix. I've been under the dash, but I didn't see anything obvious.
Build date - January 2024
Delivery date - May 2024
Miles - 1500 mi.
Resolution - none yet

I've had this with other cars, and had it briefly on the Emira but it went away. On other cars, it was the spring on the clutch that simply needed a dab of grease.

700 miles: Two ignition coils failed and then shorted, taking the fuse that powered all six. Cause was coils were corroded.
Repaired under warranty.

1800 miles: CEL 2098 Fuel Trim Too Low -- O2 sensor #1 failed.
Dropped off today. Will update.

Same
Yeah I hear the subwoofer pops as well. Just randomly
I’m pretty picky on how stereos sound and the bass in the Emira sounds horrendous. I haven’t driven in it for awhile because it’s my wife’s car but I really need to install new speakers. It just doesn’t sound right for some reason.

Update from the dealer: one of my (Aerie) exhaust gaskets failed. @Aerie is expediting a pair to the dealer. Good customer service that.

2300 miles on the odometer. Front right corner is making squeaks over bumps in the road and just got this.

99.9% sure it’s an o2 sensor. I got this code repeatedly when I first got the car and the dealer replaced o2 sensor (and the cats to be safe) and the error went away
Agreed. I'd buy a few and replace them myself rather than deal with the time down at the dealership, but not at $500 each.

Are they that much?? Hot damn there better be aftermarket replacements that are better quality than oem

Wiper fluid motor doesn’t work. I hit the button, and I don’t hear the motor engaging. I just topped it off too, thinking it was the dealer forgetting to do that…

ESC/Reduced power lights. No CEL

Drove the car from home about 15 mins. Completely normal with not pushing the car at all. Got off interstate and were stopped at exit ramp red light.
Wife and I both heard a faint sound (prob 1 second) like when have a piece of gravel rattling in the wheel well. The red light turns green and when start moving the ESC light comes on and get the reduced power message but drives normally (Limited to 4k).
Get 2 miles up road and to another red light. When sitting there we both see a bit of steam/smoke coming from the front with a faint smell probably.
Pull into parking lot keeping engine running. Nothing else observed. Turn car off and after a few mins restart the car and both lights gone and completely fine rest of day in traffic on way home (in tour the whole time so traction control was on).

Temp was completely normal whole time. Had read about the ESC/Reduced power quirk before but seeing smoke and perhaps smelling is odd. Pretty positive it was coming from us and not someones exhaust etc.

Does anyone know where the ESC module is and why such a glitch would cause this? There is a
vehicle dynamics domain master(VDDM)
module behind the front undertray. Not sure if that is part of the ESC controller or not.

Only the 2nd time (1st time was 2 hr drive home from dealer) I've driven it since they did the AC resistor shield recall thing. Im checking under the front cowl for any evidence of anything that got hot etc. and on the water shield plastic shield
