This was a couple weeks ago but I forgot to post it. We had a great time at lunch meeting up in Raleigh for lunch. As usual, the Emiras drew quite a bit of attention in just the few minutes we hung around before going in to eat. The only thing that looks better than an Emira parked in a lot...
In general, I would recommend shopping around. This time last year when I bought my Emira, my main insurance provider (National General - a subsidiary of Allstate) wouldn't insure the Emira at all. I went with Hagerty which was around $2K per year (max 7,500 miles/year).
This year, when I...
I was almost certain I'd be tinting my car to the max legal NC limit (35%) but once I received my NG Emira, I decided not to do so. I think a lot of it has to do with all the smiles and thumbs up I get from people on the roads and that would largely disappear if people were just looking at...
The more I drive this car the less I car about a few tenths of a second to 60. The V6 manual is just a blast. Wouldn't trade it for a 3.3sec 0-60 i4 autobox.
I have the same setup and yeah, hearing that drive-by with valves open is just epic. I rarely get to hear it from the outside :) Thanks for sharing. Such a crazy awesome mod for under a grand USD.
I'm planning to have my ticking noise addressed during my first service visit if at all possible but yes, a confirmed resolution or two would be nice if anyone has had this successfully eliminated.
Eagerly awaiting the news. Mine seems to be getting louder and more annoying at 3,100 miles. I would like to have this addressed on my next service visit but I don't want them messing with the interior bits unless we have a confirmed fix.
Interesting experience with Nimbus. I haven't regretted it once and get so many compliments on it virtually non-stop at C&C events. Nimbus is such a deep and dynamic color. It really stands apart from almost all other silver-esque cars on the road.
I get that color is a personal choice so...
Overall, it was a huge endorsement of the Emira. Thomas said the Z06 is more fun to drive "at the limit" but I'm sure that in a canyon or on regular roads where you aren't "at the limit", the Emira is WAY more fun (and it has a 3rd pedal). I think the Z06 looks great (much better than the...
They have been there a few times but this is the first time they were a "featured sponsor" I believe. Got to park in the VIP section right in the middle of the action:
Anyone else headed to C&C Morrisville tomorrow morning? I'll be there and likely parked at ore near the Lotus of Raleigh VIP tent. Just got her all cleaned up tonight!
Is this the official thread for it?
EDIT: Nevermind, stupid question I guess since it says in the initial post, but the thread title should probably be changed...
This happens to me occasionally but usually people are trying to get up beside me to get a closer look at the car. Every now and then someone in a Mustang or souped up Civic will get on my tail and zip past me trying to make some sort of point but it doesn't bother me. About 95% of...
Been taking my 2 year old out in the Emira. She absolutely loves it. I took her to a summer "camp" a few times at a nearby church and it's pretty funny to see all the moms and dads in their SUVs and minivans and then little Maddie hop out of the Emira. The other parents love it, too :)...
I didn't have high expectations on overall build quality so it surpassed mine. The door handle feels a bit feeble along with the rear hatch but none of it particularly concerns me--I just don't slam them and treat it nicely. The interior overall feels very nice and everyone comments on how...
I already responded once but thought more about it and wanted to provide actual advice rather than just my ruleset and decision-making process.
I'm 39 and I've been blessed with a wonderful wife and two amazing little girls (one born in January and the other 2 years prior). I work in the...
I can completely understand your love affair with the Emira. As for financial discipline, I had set the following rule for myself in buying a fun car:
1. I must be able to pay cash for it
2. It must not be more than a specific percentage of my net worth (which I will withhold for obvious...
+1 on the ceramic. It's still tiresome, however, as the wheels and calipers seem to collect brake dust and appear dirty after just an hour of driving. For me, it's almost impossible to keep these wheels clean. I've never had a vehicle generate so much brake dust in just a few miles. I...
Sounds to me like the gear linkage. I made a posted about this awhile ago here. Mine actually seems to be getting worse at 2,500 miles. I don't notice it most of the time because I have a 3rd cat delete and usually ride with the windows down but if I roll them up and quiet the exhaust, it's...
Just passed the 2,000 mile mark. Already got a quote from Hagerty to bump my annual mileage from 3K to 5K. Not sure that'll be enough at this rate. The Emira is just too fun to drive to worry about miles. It feels better than ever. Like a fine wine, it just gets better and better with...
Happy Friday all! Thought I'd post a picture of my family hauler (left) and my fun car (right) when I finally had them backed out into the driveway together to setup a bounce house for my little one in the garage:
Also, here's a little video of my 2 year old getting to fire up the Emira for...
Dang that is quite fast. I still wouldn't trade it for the sound and excitement of the V6 manual, but good to see that there are some nice trade-offs for the I4 owners.
Perhaps but it sure does look like a metallic light blue to me, at least in that photo.
EDIT: Yeah, did some DD and looked at his previous photos and it is indeed Osmium. I didn't realize it has so much blue hue to it.
