Oh ok.... I'm sure it is affixed In there well to stay on... I've only washed my car 3x and it doesn't rain here in so cal so.... but I ll ask my dealership about it too... I m hoping that there is an ECU update for the intermittent "reduced power " mode that my emira goes thru.... my friend...
Guys, I'm looking at a video of an emira owner in UK that is getting a bunch of things fixed and of the things is that water from front wind shield drips down and falls onto the fuse box n further below onto resistor packs...which will then get rusted.... lotus apparently has a rubber sheet...
I've just installed the new non haptic buttons n it's easy once you figure it out but the instructions on GRP site was not clear....
1. AIR BAG REMOVAL was easy.... see the picture, while pushing the spring tab in, pull the bag out on that side n while holding that side out, goto the other...
Mine at 2200 miles... car went into same limp/reduced power mode again.... 5th time....today was a cool 65F wx... so my previous 3 posts of this happening in hot wx (100F) at spirited driving only , is now out the window.... fock....
Wtf... what is the solution to this ?, I will try to read...
Uh...does it matter re the gear selected at the cockpit vs what the position of the gear select at the gear box side, when installing the short shifter kit? I had the car placed on 1st gear in the car but when I was installing it.... the lever was moved back n forth, all over, many times...
Just did my grp install....
Some of what I encountered....
Post in thread 'GRP Short Shift Kit' https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/grp-short-shift-kit.5082/post-156604
Just installed mine.... have some pearls to share....
1. Definitely remove the air hose... idk how some one can work with that in the way....
2. Put a little shop towel under neath the area.... that way. If you drop any thing....it's caught ...
3. My grp unit was kinda tight n I could not shove...
I put my module waaay away from any heat source....also put silicone goop all over it so no water would ever get in it n also covered the wires with silver foil wire protector n zip tied the wires so that its not gonna get near any heat dource nor get affected.... no issues what do ever!
My emira reads 180 to 185F but when I'm driving spiritually up the hill on a hot day the temp goes to 200° and the car goes into limp mode. I have not checked the coolant level but don't even know where to check it ...can someone comment as to how ?
My other cars coolant temperature hardly...
Great post by the OP.... but few comments n Questions....
I have grp 3rd Cat bypass n MVC....
I get limp mode ,so far only when I'm going up hill hitting redline n the water temp goes upto 200F from usual 180 to 185F ,on a hot day here in so cal.... typically on full open mode... it usually...
i don't think it's directly related to the 3rd cat delete nor valve controller, as i've heard of people having limp mode on their way home from the dealer after picking it up for the first time....
there really is no way to incorrectly install them either....
as to washing your car and it...
Well, it happened again.... very hot weather n going up the mountain at brisk pace..... about half way to around 3500ft, it goes into limp mode again.... after I come back an hour later, its all good n it doesn't happen again as I'm driving down the mountain..... annoying cause the other guy...
Hi , my car went into the limp mode again today....all 3 similar situation ...
Ambient temp >100F, water temp 200 instead of usual 190.... going up hill hitting redline.... and around 3500 to 4000 ft elevation, the car goes into limp.mode n fuel cuts out at 4k rpm.... my car has 1500 miles n it...
Had this issue several times.... I just sit in the car n look, unlock n open the door n close.... n usually it starts again.... annoying AF.... how stupid that lotus can't even figure out some thing this mundane.... smh
Probably made for $25/unit.... I ve seen remote controlled vacuum pumps for controlling the valves with 2 remotes for $40 on eBay.... I know ,different than what we need , but the price ....
Yup, exactly what happens to be randomly...although mine was after I came back to the car after it was locked then unlocked.... but seems to happen when the cat is warmed up.... not on cold start at home.....
Annoying....
yours is done perfectly.... damn nice.... did you spray clear lacquer on top of your shifter ?n it's got a glossy sheen to it... , i was thinking of spraying mine so that the paint won't come off....i already noticed that there was some lightening of the paint in the numbers 4 especially...
yup, i did and smeared it out side... what worked best was an electronic component cleaner to wipe the paint off; better than paint thinner and alcohol...
having a lift for working on the cars and doing basic stuff is nice and for keeping another car on it when not in use.... but that car on the lift hardly gets used then... lol
even the car that is in the deep part of 2x2 garage doesnt get used much in my case... lol
