The cable that connects the valve to the module is made of normal unshielded cable for temperature. It dripped onto my car and the cable caused a short circuit, melting the module with the risk of catching fire. After having the controller analyzed (which confirmed what was described) I contacted them, they don't want to know!!! the problem is my exhaust (they say it only works on their exhaust or the original one). Be careful how you mount it and shield the cable.

Hey, I thought it was just the box itself that melted, but it's actually the cable? How do you have the cable routed? From the pictures it looks like the cable goes up into the heat shield? Do you have any photos of where the cable melted?

Sorry for all the questions, I think others with this module would like to learn from what went wrong.

I asked Milltek where to place the module and they said to place it behind the heat shield and so I did. I didn't think they had used a normal cable, otherwise I would have provided the shielding myself.... They say the problem is caused by my exhaust which is not a MILLTEK

Oh, you do have an aftermarket exhaust? Do you mind sharing which exhaust you have - is it Stainless Steel or Titanium? Not saying that this is the cause, just curious. Thanks!

It is a handcrafted stainless steel exhaust

I'll take a look at the condition of mine on the OEM exhaust. The OEM exhaust is positioned right next to a little vent in the rear diffuser, and my module is mounted far away from the exhaust. Additionally I think your valve positioning might be too close to the wiring.

Don't think people should panic about this quite yet.

Below is an installation video of how I installed my Milltek controller (Milltek install starts at about 18:10 into the video). I routed all my cables along the back of the bumper, and I zip-tied the control box up in the rear fender. I've had some hot track sessions, and so far, I haven't had any issues.

Exactly how I have mine routed.

I put my module waaay away from any heat source....also put silicone goop all over it so no water would ever get in it n also covered the wires with silver foil wire protector n zip tied the wires so that its not gonna get near any heat dource nor get affected.... no issues what do ever!
