Aftermarket wheels for the Emira

Sorry for my mechanical ignorance. What do you mean when you say too much concavity?
The wheel manufacturer has this model for the Lotus Emira.

I think they mean that the final wheel will not look like this, they will have a flatter spoke profile and not a concave spoke profile like the rendering on the screenshot.

To fit 9” and 11” wheels under the car the offsets will have to be in the high 50s.

He means that the reference image is not what the final result will look like.

The spoke design includes a "curve" that connects the outer lip to the center hub. What that curve looks like depends on the depth of that hub relative to the width of the barrel.

This is always represented with a number called "offset" which indicates the relative distance in millimeters between true center +0 and the inside of the wheel ( negative offsets like -25) or outside of the wheel. Like in the case of the Emira where the stock offsets are all above +50.

To get a "concave" deep curve/bowl what-have-you. A larger delta between the outside edge of the barrel and wheel hub is necessary. So the "face" design and spoke shape in a 2d reference won't change. But depth and curvature very much will.
