Alternate configurator renders of the other 4 FE colors

No, that just isn’t right. I don’t know anything about how your program interacts with colors, but I just saw the shadow grey car and that isn’t it. I think it’s too “glossy” - the real car doesn’t pick up that much reflection (Maybe that’s true of the other colors too?)

It seems to depend on the environment. Outside it gets quite shiny. I based mine on this picture of the actual car in New York. As you can see, it's almost mirror-like under those conditions.

I've seen pictures of it inside under multiple halogen lights and it also looks very shiny, although much more gray shows. I'll keep working on it.

This is superb a fantastic effort for all us still scratching our heads, I've always been Seneca blue but now really considering Nimbus grey, may I ask what colour scheme you have gone for?

Great work! This is what I was looking for to help me decide what color to go for.
The only thing left is the wheels.
I prefer the car to be in magma red with black pack and red calipers. Black alcatara Inside. But the wheels.....?
Diamond cut is not mine but silver or black.
What do you think?

It's scientific fact, as explained here
"You have probably seen the science experiment invented by British rock band, Pink Floyd, where a beam of light turns into a rainbow when you shine it through a glass triangle." 🤣

Top job @Eagle7. (y)

If you would be so kind, I would love to see a render of the following combo:
  • Hethel Yellow
  • Red Brake Calipers
  • Silver V-Spoke Forged Wheels
  • Black Alcantara Interior (if it shows, then with Red stitching)
  • Lower Black Pack
  • No Privacy Glass
...and the same with Diamond-Cut V-Spoke Forged wheels and Tan Leather interior.

Many thanks.

Wow, Ok I see your point. I withdraw my objection. That car didn’t look anything like that in the showroom. These darker colors (verdant and shadow) are really different in different lighting for sure.

Would you please Yellow without black pack and then blue with and without black pack. At least this 3/4 view as seen above, but whatever you can post.

(silver wheels, yellow calipers, tan interior just like above)

And is there a PayPal link or some way we can show you some love other than all our “likes”? I really appreciate and admire your talent and willingness to help us all out!

After seeing the green in person in Austin, I was 100% for Nimbus. Now I’m waffling between:

Green, black pack, black wheels, yellow calipers, tan interior (original deposit has this code)

Nimbus, black pack, black wheels, red calipers, black interior (leather or alcantara). I’d do red leather, but it would come with a divorce….

I dislike silver wheels and trim - love the black cockpit look.

@Eagle7 - if you have the time, can you render these two please?

Lol well since I'm retired, this is something to do that I not only enjoy, but wanted to do to contribute to the Lotus community. Lotus has had 6 months since the rollout to give us accurate images of the colors on the car we're being asked to commit paying $100k for, and it's really been one area where they've dropped the ball in my opinion. Their configurator is almost useless it's so far short of the actual colors.

I get it that they're busy, but It's only taken me 2 days to do this, and that's with having to find a 3D Emira model to purchase, download it, load it into my 3D program and begin identifying all the separate objects in it, label them, and start putting textures and colors on them. That's just some of the work I've done, and if I can do this in 2 days, there's really no excuse why someone at the design studio with access to the actual equipment and original files couldn't have done this.

At any rate, hopefully these help everyone to choose the color combinations they want and have a reasonable idea of how it's going to look.

Taking your requests into consideration, I did a lot of work on the wheels. Created a specific silver color based on photos of the actual gray car. I hadn't really looked at the wheels in depth before, but once I did I realized the tires were just basically donuts with an image wrapped around them. I replaced them with a tire model I already had that has actual tread modeled (although you can't see it in these particular images) and used better tire rubber textures. Another thing I noticed was the wheels were sticking out past the side of the body, so I moved them inward to where they'd actually be on the real car.

Here's a couple with your white and maroon request. The thing with really dark colors is they tend to act like mirrors, so you mostly see reflected light rather than the actual color. You can see the color the best on the tops of the mirrors.

These are so cool! I actually wonder what these colors would look like on an Evora, which shows a little more roof. Love what you’ve done! Thank you.

what is it about some some of the ladies and red interiors? My wife is the same way. Both of my Bertones have red leather interior and she is not a fan. Perhaps they are a shameless grasp for my youth, but I live them. I think they look fantastic with the right car. For Emira I think it can work with every available FE color and even some that aren’t available.

I'm usually not one for red interiors, but if I go with Nimbus, I'm considering it. My hesitation stems from red interior sample I saw. I'm not completely sold on it, honestly. I wish it had more burgundy.

Yeah, the brighter reds are a little youthful and brash, but with nimbus gray I bet it would look awesome. The deeper reds would certainly look great too. Nimbus, as a neutral, can accommodate any color interior and look stunning. I actually like tan with it. The black is classic. The light gray would be monochromatic and make quite a statement. I don’t think you can go wrong.

That last white version reminded me of one of the attempts by a car magazine at a "spyshot" render. I suspect they'd seen a glimpse of a styling clay and had blended it with some Evora and Evija elements. It's not too far off the actual car side profile but the front still has the Evora/Elise/Exige top exit vents. The registration is a nice touch too!

What I was going for with the white/maroon combo is a throwback to some of the 60s Austin Healey MKIIIs. They weren’t white, but instead an off white/cream color. Paired with blood red accents they looked quite regal. Many other manufacturers of the day had a similar combination available. I think it would be really nice on Emira (maybe even better on Evora) and harken back to a rich heritage of British roadsters. Some of those cars were really magnificent to behold.

Using a new rendering engine. This one is better with lights and shadows and color bounce. I also changed out the earthen texture on the floor to a generic asphalt texture.

I've spent a good hour and a half futzing with Magma trying to get it to match the photos of the color samples on the planforms. This is as close as I've been able to get so far, but I'm still not entirely happy with it. It may still be too dark, but here it is.

Yes, that’s a beautiful car. I like the recessed front lights, the details around the C-pillar and the wheels
