Hi All

A few thousand miles into my V6 Nimbus and loving it - except for one thing.

The bonnet open warning alarm regularly goes off for hours on end. Very annoying!

It has been in to the dealer to be looked at a couple of times but it always starts up again. I assume they have checked everything is mechanically as it should be and that they are unable to recreate the issue. But then, next time I take it out, there it is again.

I will be taking it back in (for a new sensor perhaps?) but any suggestions on how to disable the alarm/beeping in the meantime? Does the service manual have anything useful to say?

Thanks in advance.

James

Interesting because there is no bonnet sensor. Not on mine anyway.

You can see the bracket where one might go, but there’s nothing there.

It looks like it might have been an option, or a change of plan, as there are also 3 rubber locators that serve no purpose as the bonnet is bolted in place.

Maybe your warnings are a software thing that hasn’t been deactivated?

There’s nothing in the service notes about any bonnet sensor.

If anyone has the service manual can you check where the sensor is? (presumably there is one if there's a warning!)

I stand corrected. Didn’t see that in the service notes.

But, as you can plainly see from my photo, there isn’t one fitted to my car. 🤷‍♂️

Here’s a closer pic of mine.

As you can see, no sensor switch.

Thanks all. That's very helpful indeed. Much appreciated.
