Lotus Owner or new to Lotus?

The Emira would be my first Lotus but not the first I've been seriously interested in. I wanted the Elise since it hit the states in 2005 when I was in college and active on other Lotus forums. Ended up with an MR2 Spyder after graduating with my first job. Just after the Great Recession/GFC, heavily discounted used Elises popped up everywhere. I was tempted but it didn't align with my priorities at the time.

The Emira, will be our 3rd Lotus. Our first was a S2 Elise 111S, which we sold to purchase a Exige Cup 240 (no. 6 of 6 cars made for AU). See photos. We have owned this car for 14 + years and has been an amazing car. Just done 24,000 km of which 17,000km + would have been on the track. It's part of our family DNA and the Emira will join the Cup in the stable - can't wait !

Also had a VX200 turbo in silver with red leather, 2003.
What was yours @Paul Lewis ? I love that car, wish I kept it, was such a fun and unusual car.

And my current Evora which I’ve owned since new, also silver with red interior.
I‘m still in that camp for 16 years now, VX220 Turbo (Lotus type 116) or as we had it in Germany as an Opel Speedster Turbo. Quite special, still after all these years. But maybe time to move on as I have to sell at least one of my cars (M2 or/and Speedster).

When I get an Emira it will be my 11th Lotus.
2 S2 Europas
2 Twin Cam Special Europas
'84 Turbo Esprit
3 2005 Elises
1 2006 N/A Exige
1 2007 Exige S

This was my favorite of all

Previously had a S2 Elise 111R and an Evora S.
Currently have Elan S4, Elan M100 and Elise S1 160. All staying. The Emira will be my sixth Lotus and the first new one I have ever bought.

Same colour combination. Also had a black with black interior. Last one was a VXR with 300BHP which was seriously quick should have kept.

I had a blue VX220NA, probably the best value for money car I've bought. Loved it, but always hankered after the look of the Exige.

I posted a list of mine earlier in the thread back in August and included a couple of pictures in my introduction post around the same time. But you can never have too many Lotus pictures so here are some more of mine:

How did you manage to get hold of a Lotus bike?
It took two years of hunting. My frame used to belong to Chris Boardman’s mechanic. He had added modern components and I wanted to do an original (1990s) restoration.

Spent another year tracking down New Old Stock and lightly used parts all over the world: Australia, Hungary, Germany, US, France as well as UK. It’s built up to the same spec as Boardman used for the World Championships in 1994.

These days it’s slightly easier to find them, as we started a Lotus Sport 110 Owners Club a few years ago and have now traced about 145 of the 250 frames. The club usually knows about bikes being offered for sale.

Although these bikes are 25+ years old and rare, many of us ride them and they’re still competitive. I ride mine a few times a year on closed circuits. My daughter is also now tall enough and fast enough that she’ll be racing it in a couple of time trials this year.
