Checking the interest level for DIY PPF (Paint Protection Film) kits.

I see some on eBay and this is something I'm considering selling too.

If it sounds promising, I'd happily become a sponsor here.

Thanks in advance :)

I’m not a potential customer but I think a front PPF kit might work- lower cost for DIY and most essential.

The side and rear curves seem difficult even for pros. Lots of stretching, heating etc to get it on right.

The front end is not easy neither, especially the area under the front air vent. This car is better ppf by professional to achieve a clean good look.

The hood and roof are the only areas I would attempt as a DIYer given they are nearly flat.

FWIW, I have full ppf and am disappointed with how many seams were needed in areas of high curvature. I think this is part laziness by the installers but at the same time, an indication of the installation complexity.

This really depends on the installer's skill set. Mine is a full ppf with no visible seams at all.

Well, you have confirmed what I suspected. I let the dealer do the ppf against my better judgment.

From part of the deal, my dealer included a full ppf. I decided to pay out of my pocket to a professional after I examined their work.

My PPF could be better. More cut/relief lines than I’d like, and there are a few areas that it doesn’t but up against as closely as I’d like.

However, I am glad I did not have the shop disassemble the car to tuck and hide everything. Press-to-fit panels never fit right once they are removed. I can put up with a gap if there aren’t squeaks, rattles, and misaligned parts.

A skilled installer would not need to disassemble any parts for installation. The only parts that my installer removed were the badges.
