I just saw the Lotus 4 door Sedan release, does anyone think that this push forward will cut back the ICE Emira to a limited run and barely available in NA if at all?

I don't think so, the Electric Sedan will be produced in China. Does not affect Hethel operations.
The electric sports car will, but that's a few years down the line.

I don’t know how it works inside Lotus, but from the outside it seems like two companies.

There’s Hethel, producing stuff that’s almost loss-leader and defining the brand (I have no idea if they’re selling at a loss, just a guess that the Emira program at best isn’t setting the world on fire for Geely). It’s the true “for the drivers” stuff that gives the rest cache. Evija, Emira, future EV sports car, the bespoke stuff, performance parts.

Then there’s the “lifestyle” vehicles being built in Wuhan, the big EV stuff that Lotus hopes will be the true bread and butter of the business. Spiritually and practically these cars seem to be cousins more than siblings.

if you listen closely to interviews with Lotus team members they seem careful to talk about these cars differently, reminding that the stuff in China is “lifestyle”. Which I take to mean selling the cache of the brand more than selling cars that are on-brand. A bit like all the “M”s that BMW plasters all over everything that isn’t an M these days. That’s lifestyle.

Point being, I don’t think anything Wuhan does will affect Hethel all that much. But I have no idea.

surely all those things will be made in china.

Chances of the Lotus factory existing after the cease of new ICE car production is slim in my opinion....

But I don't see any of this electric horse sh!t hitting any time targets as the supply of power and infrastructure is complete nonsense here in the UK.

Hethel will transition to the type 135 all-electric sports car over time, possibly built side-by-side with Emira for some time…..
