• The September 2024 Lotus Emira Photo of the Month contest is underway! Please take a moment to check out thread here: 🏆 September 2024 - Emira of the Month starts now! (You can dismiss this message by clicking the X in the top right hand corner of this notice.)

Emira configuration - it's u-turn time!

Did the black parts (like black air ducts behind doors) stand out on Shadow Grey or just merge in. Ideally I want the black parts to be a contrast to the colour of the paintwork as there's some great detailing in the Emira which may be hidden by a really dark colour.
This walkround gives a good idea of the colour from different angles and how the splitter and ducts etc look

Good evening/morning/afternoon - select according to time-zone. (G'day if you're in Australia!)

Well it's done!!! After weeks and months of agonizing I have made my choices - here's what they are and why, along with a screenshot.

Colour - Dark Verdant: classy, British and Lotus. If it's a little lighter than the sample discs then great, but I'll take it even if it's not.
Black Pack - not with the green, it's dark enough not to need it and my interior choice looks better without the black roof.
Interior - Tan! After months of saying green and tan was a bit too traditionaI I suddenly fell in love with it.
Steering wheel - black alcantara, tactility and functionality, plus it adds another texture inside.
Wheels - the green needs the bright silver for me, added benefit being the silver wheels, while the same size as the others, look slightly larger.
Calipers - I could have gone silver for a clean, super-classy look but the pop of yellow works so well and this is a Lotus, not an Aston.
Engine - V6. After saying i4 since day 1, impatience plus the possibility to run this for a couple of years then switch to i4 got the better of me. Looking forward to the soundtrack....
Gearbox - Manual. I've read so many complimentary things about the auto and this will be a daily driver after all but the inclusion of the LSD swung it.
Suspension - Touring. The Harry's garage video nearly switched me to sports, but then I reminded myself he was on a track, whereas I'll be on Scottish roads 99% of the time.

So here she is....

Damn, that’s almost identical to the spec that I’m after, except I’m going for AMG i4 and sport susp. I live in Scotland too, and Harrys video convince me that’s it’s ok for sports. 😂 Happy to wait for i4, by then all the reviews (hopefully) will rave about the Emira and Lotus would have ironed out some production bugs by then….

Same here, needed a change and going for Nimbus,

Regarding the wheels with the green, I had it silver and changed for black, just a personal preference, here is sample of before and after in my Aston, so you see the difference and maybe it helps the decision, although to me they both look great.

Update for those choosing Verdant Green.

Although the green is completely different, this could help for the combo on the wheels and calipers.

The car is originally black with silver wheels.

1st step: PPf in Green. Picture nr. 1 from previous post.

2nd step: Rims painte in black. picot nr. 2 from previous post.

This is the last change I made on my 14 yr old DB9: Calipers from red to yellow.

Merry Christmas and happy Emira New Year !

Nice one!
My original choice was what you've shown us.
I was toying with silver wheels, but am back on the original track again.
Green, black wheels, yellow calipers.

Thank you!!

That’s been the case since the reveal - the show car had the full-width engine cover used on the i4.

It’s one of the only ways you’ll be able to tell the V6 and i4 apart when you see one. Sound will be a different matter.

I’m a fan of black wheels on the dark green and dark gray cars cause it shows the car isn’t black, you can see the color against the wheels. I’m also VERY tempted to order a dark gray car with full black pack for the same reason. That car would be cool. If lotus offered a real BRG I’d get that in a heartbeat.
why lotus, why?
sigh
