Received a Galpin 2025 calendar and guess which car was featured in May? Had never heard of this model before.

Ah, yes. It is, I found this on their Instagram:

This Galpinized Emira is an homage to the Essex F1 livery, which Lotus featured in the 1980’s.

Essex Petroleum became a key sponsor of the Lotus F1 team in 1979 and launched the lineup in 1980. We also fitted this Emira for it’s a Milltek performance exhaust system.

My first thought was a red/white/blue car made to attract a ++ patriotic American, then I read the post by Nick in Sydney
about the "Esprit F1 Livery" and found this:

It looks suspiciously like Seneca blue rather than the correct blue of the F1 and subsequent Esprit Essex cars.

Agree with all comments, hideous even if you do love the Superman spec. Looks to me like Galpin slapped on some film for advertising (it also says Galpin Lotus in addition to Essex), probably used it in shows for their own purposes and now is trying to unload it. At least on the Esprit, the Essex livery follows the straight lines of the car. Def not the right look on the swoopy Emira.
