Have you seen the car wow video? If you want a real eye full of tan interior then get on there
Even better….. Tan interior it is, but what exterior colour….. Yellow/Tan (divides opinions or Nimbus/tan or DV/Tan)

I'm still going through the reviews, but are there any objective tests? I'm interested in the acceleration, especially compared to the Cayman GTS 4.0. Would love to see a side-by-side rolling test or anything with a Vbox/Dragy.

I think it's great that you're always so optimistic and giving Lotus so much credit, but I don't think so. At this point it's too late to make changes to the car. Maybe they'll tweak next years' version, but the FE is pretty much locked in already.

I'm past making excuses and hoping. That was plausible a year ago when they announced 400hp/6.8k RPM and we were all hopeful... but now I've pretty much relegated myself to the reality. We aren't getting the 416hp/7k RPM.
Lots Of Takeaways Usually Subjective
😉

Just watched the Rory Reid Autocar review. Full of praise for the handling when thrashing around a track (Sport + Cups). Leaves me even more baffled by the Evo track review.
Jethro had Sport + GYs, according to Gavan K. this is the most compromised setup - can't understand why Lotus would have given him this setup

Possible typo from C&D? Google shows Cayman, 86, GR Supra, C8 Corvette, and LFA range around 1.0-1.07g.

Edit: Yeah, almost definitely a typo.

As someone who specced sport suspension and Dunlop’s this is really frustrating. I simply wanted tyres that would simply be usable all year round in the U.K., not to be “compromised”and a combination that visibly upset Jethro on a perfect surface.

Do you know when he said this? I suspect sometime after we had to cough up £5k and lock in our specs.

6.8k Rev limit ain’t making me feel any better either!

Same. I specced sport and Goodyears... though not exactly worried about it.

The 6.8k rev limit is disappointing.

It seems like Lotus is just debuting the Emira with a detuned engine for some reason. I cant figure it out. There's really no reason they couldn't release it with 430 or even 450HP to stay relevant and even give it the needed edge of the Cayman GTS.

I always enjoy Harry's reviews and this was no exception. Although I've now seen at least 2 instances of the car doing 0-60mph in OVER 5 seconds and 0-100mph is over 10 seconds, which is my only serious concern. Driving experience is the main factor in this purchase, but for me, power and acceleration fall into that equation equally with feel and engagement.

I'd accept 4.2-4.5sec with the Lotus handling DNA to make up for it, but at near $100k purchase price, that was about as high as I was willing to accept. Hopefully some proper measured stats will be out soon, but currently 50/50 on whether I'll follow through with my order until proven otherwise. I expect this may be less important for those driving on UK roads.
Yes. it does seem to be around 5 seconds 0-60 and while its not THE most important thing, I too think it is important and I dont want to be beaten away from the lights by my own 2 tonne Ionic 5 or small shouty audi. I cant believe it would only do it in 5 seconds...surely SURELY not. Maybe the engine is not turned up to full/ mercedes f1 team style.. but I think we know thats not true.
Ariel quote their 0-60 times based on sublime perfect conditions which no one has ever repeated, perfect track temp, perfect tyres, changes, everything.... I doubt lotus would do this. Porsches times are generally faster than they quote...At the moment it does seem way off for Lotus.
I have the driving experience the 29th of July, I will and I hope someone before me will, ask the instructor to do the standing start so we can time it..... IT CANT BE THAT BAD.... !

The reviews as expected and I mentioned this before when someone compared Emira to Porsche, the engine/gearbox combo in Porsche cars are simply unbeatable including Ferrari Lambos, so if you compare Emira to a Porsche it might seem less exciting and that's just the truth..

Why I choose Emira? For the road!!! You can't rev always to 8K-9K rpm on road, you can't feel the steering of a Porsche on road as good as track, you can't have some nice Supercharged whines on slow speed as Emira, on the road Emira might be most engaging car to drive (because now it have all the interior + looks goodies also)

So any review comparing to Porsche on track it's simply gonna disappoint cause that's how good Porsche is, but I promise you guys, Lotus will be the only brand capable of directly competing to Porsche once market becomes EV only, it have bright future

Even in sports mode from 0-100kph during the carwow review, ~6800 rpm redline displayed.

Which one is more likely?

- It has a 6800rpm redline
- Carwow did a 0-100kph test in Comfort mode
- The software even in sports mode limits it to 6800 rpm
- The software is misreporting rpm.

I remember the shifting concerns mentioned during the proto reviews too.... Really wish this was resolved. Not happy about the brake pedal distance comments either.
break pedal sounds as if it should be an easy fix... the shifting is a Lotus thing... wont change... some did say it was a little better than the evora... and some said u just need to get used to it.... I imagine it would be ok... not the best, but okay

Not questioning you directly, but I have heard this 7000 rpm or more mentioned and hoped for, but where did this come from? Did the Evora in the 400/410 guise have a red line above 6800? curious.... it certainly looks like we are 6800 for now...

I agree.

Everything is at the lowest end of expectations. I used to bounce off the 6.8k Rev limiter regularly and the extra 400 rpm helped a lot in my Exige when I put it in Sport mode and took it to 7.2k.

I agree.

Everything is at the lowest end of expectations. I used to bounce off the 6.8k Rev limiter regularly and the extra 400 rpm helped a lot in my Exige when I put it in Sport mode and took it above 7k. And that’s just on B road driving. Power is the same as the 2015 Evora.

Generally not impressed by the fact we had to wait this long for reviews and they’re pre-prod cars and they still leave questions re: suspension/tyre choices, seat position, Rev limit, brake pedal setting.

But at least we have been allowed to see the colours!

It was reported in the Sport vs Touring thread. I remember this distinctly since Sport + GYs was my original choice and the change has pushed me back to August delivery.
