I had an early deposit with delivery scheduled for Feb/March 23.
After 2 test drives (in a touring and sport chassis) I decided to cancel.
It was a difficult decision based largely on-
- being a little under whelmed (coming from an Evora 400)
- quality concerns on the early cars, largely based on forum feedback.
- the impending post covid UK car car price crash
In the end I bought a 2018 Aston Martin vantage which was brilliant. Looks amazing (subjective), incredible sound, crazy power/performance and it’s an Aston!
The only downside being flappy paddles but I that’s the future, right.
One year later - the Aston has gone. Loved every minute of it but really missed not having a Lotus.
I revisited both Touring and Sports - and went for Sports - just feels a little more a lotus like to me (albeit on the Goodyears).
Found a good deal on pre- registered dealer car.
V6 manual obviously.
3 weeks ownership now - initial thoughts -
Handling is sooooo much better than the Aston.
Feels slow compared to the Aston -although still running in so have kept it in touring mode so far- no doubt sports mode will improve this.
Sports suspension is less harsh than the Aston was !
Exhaust a little quiet, but again sport mode should improve this (perhaps needs a de-cat pipe)
it gets lots of positive looks/ thumbs up etc.
Overall really happy - glad I had the Aston for a year as it was an itch I had to scratch but loving the Lotus again
