Everyone's Mod Priority List

- BOE headers with cat pipe
- Spare 18 or 19” track wheels and tires
- Track pads

That’s basically it — I’ll enjoy it mostly stock for a while.
Will you be able to pass CA smog with he BOE headers and cat pipe? Won't it need a tune for that?

Hi Kitkat, if you do the headers will you have to map it to stop faults coming up?

Glad to see so many interesting ideas...

for me it's probably the following:

vivid red wrap over the original Hessell;
downsizing to 19 rims (Brabus Monoblocks?) and meatier tires;
adding carbon lip/skirts/diffuser;
a possible engine tune;
swapping out the red seats for some charcoal ones.

And if im not divorced by then i will probably lay low for a year...

If you swap your red seats out isn’t there other leather on the dash and door cards in red?
I saw a twin turbo supra at an event that was bought with red seats and owner had them colour changed to black and you couldn’t tell. I imagine black is the easiest colour to change to.

Finally a good topic again.

I originally decided in favour of the i4, but the long waiting time and the now extensive range of tuning parts for the V6 make me doubt my decision.

In the event that the i4 doesn't appeal to me after the test drive, my list of options is as follows:

- Aerie Titanium Exhaust and Isolatet Titanium Y-Pipe
- JUBU Emira 440 Kit
- JUBU brake cooling (both axles)
- JUBU cooling upgrade 2GR-FE
- Super B lightweight lithium battery

However, the list is incomplete. New camshaft is also tempting, but you might as well go for the short block upgrade ...

You will pass ecu readiness check but might fail visual if they remove the engine cover. Either way we don’t have to worry about that for 8 years. You’d likely pass a sniff test too but they stopped doing those for newer cars in California. Should run fine without a tune.

My primary motivation here from the mods listed are making sure I can track the car and preserving the stock parts. I don’t want to melt the oem cats on the car with track time or damage the stock wheels plus i’m not going to be running OEM tires.

Nope, pre and post cat oxygen sensors will remain on the car, they just need the cables extended likely, will pass readiness monitors just fine.

Medium Term Modifications:
- Baffled oil pan
- Oil pressure and temperature transducer
- CAN integration for sensors and displays
- GPS based exhaust valve control

Long Term Modifications (Depends on need)
- Coilover with independent high and low speed compression adjustment
- Bit more power
- Aero

If you had the 440 kit including the Syvecs ecu it’s only a matter of adding the performance headers and downloading the new map to go 460.
The cams would require a custom tune or you will be going over the 500nm torque level that is bad for reliability.

460hp/500nm is the max with going built but you could always go down the weight reduction after that.

I understand now as originally I didn’t realise you were keeping the 3rd cat. 👍🏻
Technically the BOE replaces the third cat with a low cell count cat -- so I'd be keeping A cat in the same position, just not the oem cat.

GRP 3rd cat delete pipe
Milltek active valve controller
Side window tint 15%
DIY ceramic coating
Black Lotus Lettering
Swap(hopefully) to black exhaust tips
Wheels color polished Red(brand undecided)
Suspension(probably Nitrons road)

GPS based exhaust valve control
This intrigues me... are you planning to use an off-the-shelf solution for this, or are you DIYing it? My interest is piqued, as I work in vehicle telematics as my day job 🤔

DIY: I'll be using an ESP32 board with a GPS board over I2C to send CAN packets to the CAN bus in order to control the valves in order to shut them in a geofenced area. For my use case, this is temporarily close and opening as I enter a 200 meter section of the sound station at Laguna Seca.

The final project concept is to have an ESP32 dedicated sitting on the bus to transmit all CAN traffic wirelessly over ESP NOW to talk to any nearby ESP modules. The ideal ESP module would be a nice battery powered OLED display with that integrated GPS that acts to control the exhaust valves and datalog & display oil pressures, temperatures and location.

I was thinking that could be neat for not annoying my neighbours, but your use case takes it to another level of sneakiness (of which I highly approve) :D

I’m looking at doing these bronze gold on my shadow gray. It will pop nicely. Unfortunately they don’t have them in the size of the Emira and so it would have to be a custom order which will cost a LOT more and take over 10 weeks. Do you guys know of another brand of wheels with the same finish that’s ready to go for the emira?
Thanks

We can have wheels ready in about 5 weeks, same color.
