Factory Tour Thread

Guessing they didn't care about pics judging by how many we got today and by how you can see cell phones out taking pics in a few of the shots.

Lotus have been trawling online and going through all the dealers' personal and company social media accounts. Most of the pictures taken this week have now been removed from the original sites.

They're still on the forums where they were copied and re-posted. I don't know if the forums have been approached by Lotus yet. Some have stronger ties with Hethel than others.

It gives some fresh insight on how Lotus now wants to handle comms with it's dealers and customers. Make of this what you will :(

Absolutely ridiculous. What's next? Cancelling pre-orders for people who repost images?

Keep everyone completely in the dark like mushrooms 🍄

For the dealers/agents Lotus have the direct approach. If you take unauthorised photos on site at Hethel and publish them you have technically broken a commitment you signed on entering the site. But they can't stop you re-posting something that's in the public domain.

I was looking at pictures on one dealer page this afternoon as they were being taken down.

Baffling... clearly they didn't care enough to enforce a "no photos" policy on the day(s)

One would think cell phones are stored away and other measures taken.

I took my cell phone out to check playoff basketball scores at a strip club one time and the bouncer was on my ass so fast you would have thought I just fucked his mother. Lotus should hire that guy.

Joe and Jo Public visitors are usually escorted by their host while on site and stopped from using cameras/phones.

Dealers/agents are partners and expected to abide by their agreements with Lotus. For example most dealers have a copy of the Emira Product Specification, but if they posted it online or let a customer take pictures of it they'd be breaching their confidentiality terms.

I almost thought this was joke. Could someone please help explain why Lotus would actively prevent customers from seeing pictures of cars they've ordered and been waiting on for months (and have now delayed)?

I'm surprised dealers thought this was ok

I'm certain they're planning to curate professional photographs under perfect lighting conditions once all the cars are in complete production form and then release them alongside a blitz of marketing fury to generate as much buzz as possible. I myself am thankful to the dealers who posted these photos to alay our ongoing frustrations with having to rely on the configurator (with its dubious rendering of color).

Check out the differences in appareance between these two photos and the rendering of color based on light, composition and clarity.

Can't wait to see the other colors (particularly Magma, Dark Verdant and Nimbus Grey) under full sun!
