First Edition colours - first-hand impressions...

It's probably done by Geely in China :)
Oh, wow.......

But to the original point: photo evidence of a Dealer reveal could be written up as a positive.
. Enthusiastic reception during Emira hands-on bodes well for.
. upcoming customer engagement.
A taste of things to come.

Don’t think so.

This looks like the Chinese Seneca show car given the seat stitching design on the leather not going all the way down the seat.

And since when did Hethel have Sunshine? 😆

You're right, I think the instagram poster slapped this onto some Hethel dealer pics  Yes, the sunshine is a dead giveaway.

Let me be a nerd for a minute. Everyone complains about the lack of sun but overcast is actually the perfect day time lighting for color accuracy in photography. I know the car will look more lively in full sun when the hard light lifts out those edges, highlights, and shadows. But to get a good accurate sense of what the colors look like, thank goodness for an overcast day. The fact that all the different photos are so consistent in color rendering is a testament to the benefit of soft full spectrum lighting.

Enjoy Willem van der Kooi / Dutch Lotus importer's track time on the Hethel circuit with the Lotus Emira V6.
It's safe to say: this car drives fantastic.
Gotta say i hate the 'rattlly' sound this thing makes when he clips those corners - Yuk!

That's what's supposed to happen when you hit them lol. A rolls royce will do the same thing. They are purposeful on a track and make for a quicker lap when utilized correctly.

Normal rumble strip noise. That's the tire moving over the trailing edges of the asphalt blocks. That's not the car rattling, all cars will make that noise when you clip the apex or track out onto the rumble strip on the outside.

There are a bunch of different styles of kerbing that are used, but most of the modern ones aren't just harsh raised-bump or ground-in asphalt strips like you see on some highway edges. They have moved toward geometric ones that provide the warning without upsetting the balance of the car too badly, or have multiple types of rumble strips in parallel to have a warn strip and a bump strip.

Examples... the first is very mild as you can see.

Spotted this today. To those who have seen Nimbus in person, how close to this would you say it is?

It's a little hard to tell from one photo at one angle when light plays such a big part in how nimbus looks. I'd say that this looks a bit darker than nimbus and has a little less warmth, lacking the slight golden tones I saw in nimbus in the flesh in the factory - but those comments come with a health warning!

Nimbus is definitely similar. Perhaps less smokey and a touch warmer. Very close to the original Titanium Elise S1. The silver wheels show a distinct difference in colour tone (colder/more silver) on the Emira.

Have you seen both in person?
Would you think black leather or alcantara interior could be a match?

Yes, seen both. Black leather would work with any paint colour. In fact, any of the seat options would work with Nimbus. It's definitely a timeless, classy paint option, which will always look good. If the red leather was less red and a bit darker, that would be a great combo. Tan is a good match due to the wamer nature of the paint. Alcantara with stitching to compliment calipers would also be great IMO

Absolutely spot on about them all working - and why tan would be the pick of the bunch.

I went to look at the colour palettes today at a local dealer in Ontario, Canada. Check the google drive links for video. I nabbed the red and blue and put them in the sunlight.

A few notes: the leather feels pretty average quality, as expected from a lotus sports car. The same is true for the alcantara, which feels borderline sub-par but probably wont matter on the seat.

All photos/videos were taken with an iphone 12 and look pretty true to reality.

Hope this helps!

James, you had the opportunity to get Dark Verdant in the sunshine and you left us hanging!? 🤣 That's still the most mysterious color (and with the least media exposure) so far as I can tell.

Did you have any thoughts on it?

James, just wondering what your thoughts on the DV paint sample you saw?
