First Emira in Nurburgring ?

Shmee will have a ring video with the Emira according to his IG story.

That should make for a good video. Like or dislike Schmee, there is no doubt that he is an amazing driver.

Thanks.
I'm waiting for someone to remark on the aero downforce benefits of the Emira design at speed.
Not just a pretty face, but a force to be reckoned with.

I know there’s lots of marketing about it, and I’m sure there’s some downforce, but it’s going to be in the realm of stabilizing the car just enough at high speeds to make sure there’s no lift.

55kg @ 193kph isn’t that much

If driver is here , tell us your spec please and how was the car

The Emira appears at a corner ("YouTube corner" as it's known...) where you have to commit and not lift off or you are in trouble in a mid-engined car - dozens of YouTube videos feature what happens when you get it wrong here, Emira driver looks like he trusts the car and knows what he's doing.

Its called Brünnchen and is actually not tricky at all. The reason a lot of cars crash in this corner is due to showing off as this section is always crowded as its very easy for spectators to get to this spot and park the car.

The Nordschleife itself is a very intimidating track for itself though. Its an absolute bucket list to drive your car there. But its pretty dangerous at Touristenfahrten and trackdays cost a fortune…

Just watched Shmee video - seems to sum up what Emira is about - a manual 400hp car makes for a more rewarding but also more challenging drive than something more powerful with flappy paddles.
I’m still undecided if I want to swap my less sporty but more powerful easy to drive F-Type SVR for the Emira. I’m sure the Emira will drive better and be more satisfying but also harder to get right and therefore sometimes more frustrating perhaps…

Yes but when you get it right? AAhhhhhh... YES PLEASE! That's the fun of the challenge, learning how to become good enough of a driver to get it right, again and again. These videos are great, but it's making it harder to wait for my car!

Yeah what's immediately obvious is that the Emira is an engaging car but not particularly fast car.

That's what I signed up for and what I want.

I got the feeling he was more intent on creating moving content than seriously challenging both the course and competition.
I expect the Emira would have performed more impressively had he been more focused. Glad he at least used Sport mode.

Its definitely an engaging car, not particularly fast may be (relatively) applicable for track but tbh I'm not finding I'm wanting more performance on the road, in fact I think it could well be less fun a lot of the time with more power. Its going to depend on the roads your driving on but on a twisty British B Road I had no issues staying with a friends new m3 touring. I've driven with him a fair bit both of us in various cars (992gts/gt4, 570s/ferrari Cali) so know our relative abilities. Long wide straights yes the m3 had the legs but it only really seemed to open up once the speeds started bordering on silly.
