How good will the Emira's gain in value be?

There are 8 brand new Emira’s sitting at my local dealership

If they're mostly i4s then it's to be expected.

1st. Not all FE i4 allocation were taken by cutoff date (my dealer have like 15 left 2 weeks before cutoff) but I think Lotus built all of the unfilled allocation just so they can squeeze them all into MY2024.

2nd. A lot of dealer allowed i4 depositor to move their deposit to the 2nd batch of FE 2.0 after production was further delayed in Dec 2023.

3rd. After a 3 year wait, there were a lot of orphaned V6 when they finally arrived in Apr 2024. Many dealer also allow i4 depositor to apply their deposit towards one of those (this is how I got my V6).

4th. The FE i4 delivery was supposed to spread over 3-4 months instead of arriving all together in Dec 2024. (mine was suppose to be in the 2nd production group arriving in Jun/Jul 2024 while the dealer demo was in the 1st group arriving Mar/Apr 2024 before the delay).

This means that there are a lot of FE i4 that either did not have a depositor or where the original depositor have moved on (mine would be one of those if I did not picking it up also).

I’d be tempted to add a future I4 to my garage, but I’d like to pair a CT5 Blackwing MT with my ‘25 Emira V6 MT.

Most people do need another car that can fit more than 2. I have a 2021 RS5 for when I need to carry more than 2.

Perhaps this is glass-half-full thinking, but I don't think it is a terrible thing for a Lotus dealer to have a half dozen Emira's on the lot. Some buyers seek instant gratification and others may want to see the product before committing. With cars and coffee season upon us, I suspect a lot of buyers will be intrigued by the Emira. I was at a McLaren cars and coffee three weeks ago and can say my Emira garnered just as much interest as most of the supercars in attendance.
