Lets imagine your car gets towed to Lotus and they have to fix something big on it... under warranty.

How long can they take on repairing the car? Can they hold the car for a month? Multiple months?

I couldn't find anything in the warranty PDF.

Colorado Lemon Law

According to the Lemon Law, it is legally presumed that a manufacturer had a reasonable opportunity to repair your vehicle when, either, your vehicle has had four or more repairs for the same problem, or, if the vehicle was out of service for 30 or more total days as a result of all its different repairs.

Illinois New Vehicle Buyer Protection Act of 2021 (Illinois Lemon Law)…See below, especially the bolded portion:

Provides that if a manufacturer is unable to service or repair a new motor vehicle to conform to the applicable written warranties after a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacturer shall either promptly replace the new motor vehicle or make restitution to the buyer.

It is presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been made to conform a new motor vehicle to the applicable express warranties if, within 18 months from delivery to the buyer or 18,000 miles on the odometer of the vehicle:

(1) the same nonconformity results in a condition that is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven after 2 or more repairs; or

(2) the same nonconformity has been subject to repair 4 or more times; or

(3) the vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for more than 30 calendar days since delivery of the vehicle to the buyer.

Ok so let’s say your new car has an issue and they return it to you on day 23.

A month later another issue occurs and it takes 8 days to fix that 2nd issue.

Is it officially a lemon at that point since they’ve had it for a total of 31 days ?

I’m a lawyer, but not one who deals with Lemon Law…You should find a Lemon Law lawyer with a good rating.

I would generally say no, because you said "another issue" which I read as different issue.
