Maybe in the UK the stickers are attached in a different manner. U.S. stickers do not come off when they are soaked in alcohol, or other solvents. We used to be able to get these off, but I'm sure our government enacted some program to ensure they are extremely difficult to remove.I removed mine by soaking cloth in 99% wiping alcohol and covering with plastic bag. No glue was left behind but be patient and wait a good 15 mins or so to sully release the sticker.
For anyone interested, I covered my visor labels and I'm 99% satisfied.
(Trimmed)
Hope this helps others.
I suppose my use of the 3M 77 with alcantara, hasn't yet passed "the test of time", however it looks good so far. It's meant to glue fabric, so I assume it'll be OK.Very helpful, thanks! I’ve got some Alcantara on order, just need to pick up some adhesive.
I’m a fan of 3M 77….but are there any thoughts on whether this is the best for Alcantara? (I’ve never worked with it before)
Yes, the plastic cover just pops out with a pry trim tool. Once you remove the screws that secures the visors to the roof section, they essential pop out as well. In case you haven't done so already, take a look at the pictures posted by one of the members at the beginning of this thread, particularly of the visors' hinge sections, which ought to give you a visual of how they are embedded and secured. The one thing to be cautious with when extracting them is with the passenger side visor's mirror light wires. Remove that one slowly and allow enough slack to disconnect the wire harness before pulling it out completely. One more dumb question...
Any tips for Visor removal?
Do the little plastic bracket covers just pop off with a trim tool?
Thanks!
