Icons for the site (Node Icons) -- is it blasphemy to change the Lotus logo blue?

I'm working on some new icons that will show up on the forum index -- they will be node icons. They show next to the forum categories to show if there are new posts or not in the forum section. Right now they are just generic icons like so:

But, I'd like to replace them with something like this. I think the green and yellow clash a bit, so I've made the logo blue. I'm wondering what the community thinks of it... would you prefer the icon the normal green and yellow or do you think it's fine to use the blue one?

Feedback and thoughts appreciated!

The yellow and green is not the current logo, which is yellow and black (no green). I'd either use the correct current yellow logo or the black and white version.

It wouldn't be blasphemy to use blue, it would just be weird. Like a green Coke logo.
