If Not The EMIRA .......... WHAT ? .... yes ok blasphemy perhaps

I have ordered GR Corolla Circuit edition, I hope/expect deliver after the Emira is due. I decided I need a daily drive and will leave the Emira for high days, holidays and track days.
Is GR good as daily drive or would it be to harsh? I vaguely recall watching YouTube on GR Yaris with the reviewer saying that the suspension is hard to be good for daily drive.

The problem is every car has a long wait. Some six months and some three years. This has caused the used car market to go insane. I am just going to drive Q7.

What was the price of the car if I may ask?
TBA the dealer forgot to remind me they still had my GR Yaris deposit when they sold it from under me as my visa was the wrong sort for car finance  so I just transferred the $2000 deposit. I am expecting arrouind the price of a Golf R

Perth doesn't see salt in their balmy winters so generally the roads are really good. I am looking forward to take it out back for dirt driving, wouldn't do that in my Emira! :ROFLMAO:

I think you've actually jumped the gun mate, I don't think anyone in the world have officially ordered a GR Corolla at the present time.
I have a deposit down for a GR Corolla at my local Toyota dealership, I'm 3rd on the list, but I haven't placed an official order because Toyota haven't even come out with pricing yet.
I'll be going with the Circuit model with the "Heavy-metal" paint.
Should be an awesome daily driver, much more practical than the Toyota Yaris
I thought I read somewhere that they won't be selling the gr Corolla in Britain or Europe since they have the gr Yaris.

You are correct of course, it is a manual order because their system isn't set up and running yet. You have to be on a list to be first on the list for that particular dealership when their official book opens. They mentioned that my GR Yaris order was still active but that none had been sent since the first run, they doubted anymore GR Yaris would be sent now the GR Corolla is coming.

So you think production of the GR Yaris is all done now?
GR Corolla looks so aggressive, love this silver-grey color.

The Perth Toyota dealership said they doubted they would be receiving any more GR Yaris now that the GR Corolla was coming, so after I had had my GR Yaris sold form under my nose (visa :mad::mad::mad::mad:) I had effectively been waiting 9 months for another GR Yaris with no sign of a car being supplied.

Being in Canada we don't get the gr Yaris but if I did have a choice I would take the Yaris over the Corolla, I like smaller cars.

Called my dealer today and they aren't taking deposits yet. The salesperson I spoke to wasn't familiar with the Circuit Edition. They took my name and number and will call when available.

I am waiting for the I4 AMG. In view of the long wait till 2024 and the reliability concerns of the Lotus brand (never own a Lotus before), would it be better off to get a 2023 Mercedes C43 AMG which is more practical and reliable, possibly the same engine as the Emira and at the same time save about 30K+ and the luxury tax in Canada? I intend to keep my current 2018 Mercedes E400 4matic coupe. Any thoughts.

If it turns out I can’t live with Magma Red, I’ll sell it and get a Jaguar F-Type. Sad, I know…

Oh no that would be tragic. If you're having second thoughts there may be opportunity to adjust your spec!

I checked with Anthony at Lotus Melbourne and there’s no way to change the FE spec now. I could attempt to give my spot away, but I’m rolling the dice that the Magma will be worthy of a $200,000 sports car. Cross fingers!

There will always be some folks that are unhappy about their selection. There's all this talk about wrapping the roof; why not wrap the whole car in a color / shade you like? I think it would be cool to have all sorts of Emiras on the streets.

Hmm, let me find out. I'm sure there's a way if you're really keen for a change in spec.

I'm pretty close myself on canceling my spot and just putting a deposit on 911 base or C4 base. Wife would be happy and I don't ever need to hear that she would like to own a porsche one day.

If not Emira and you want something that has very similar driving dynamic without exceeding the budget of Emira I'd say:
Evora 400
987 Boxster Spyder
987 Cayman R
Exige - only if you can do without creature comforts.

For me the 987 generation are the best, hydraulic steering, manuals with not such silly gear ratios and also very lightweight, plus as they are not official GT cars running cost are somewhat cheap with servicing every two years at a cost of around £500 at Porsche centre.

My 987 Boxster Spyder is just an incredible car, good low mileage examples of Spyder and Cayman R are 40-55k price region, available in both manual and PDK.
