I'm out - the cancellations thread

I'm out after 763 days since initial deposit.
I've been priced out.
Originally was $119k plus HST plus pdi/freight luckily no ADM at my dealer..
then bumped up a few times to $129.9k plus HST plus pdi/freight and the new Luxury Tax..
now its $134.9k plus HST plus pdi/freight now doubled and Luxury Tax.

So basically it went in 2years from $130k-$140k all in to today its now $185k. all in.
I initially was ok with $130k then said ok to $150k and then I stretched my max to $160k.. now with base pricing etc my conifig went to $185k all in ...
No thanks Lotus.. Zero communication and its been a frustrating experience not knowing much. The configurator is still not updated with Canadian pricing on base and options . Pathetic..
My dealership was fantastic though. I was still on the waiting list with no order date in foreseeable future and prices keep going up. I know there is inflation but at $185k Lotus can take a hike. I'm not rich. Its gone up like $55k since my deposit. Who's to say it won't go up some more by the time I place an order. At $185k there are several other options. But my budget is $150k to $160k all in.

Forget PPF, ceramic and some minor upgrades... I couldn't even afford that with all these price hikes....

Now what to do with my personal license plate that cost $400 ish. and some other Emira items. lol

Maybe I'll buy a demo or used one in the near future... but I was told in Canada prices will probably be high for a while.

That's too bad. I agree that CDN pricing is a little out of reach for what it is. Especially compared to a 718 GTS or even a 911T.

In the UK used cars have halved in value and have been plagued with mechanical and bodywork issues. Buy a Porsche

Porsche doesn't offer the same visual drama or driving engagement. The 718 GTS and 911T aren't in the same league as the Emira.

No the GTS & 911 are two leagues above and are considerably more reliable and better built. I recommend you visit the Lotus factory if you need convincing and test drive both - I have !
