Instant weight loss and no strict diet with Tillett Seats!

Cool and I imagine that we all get a kick out of that, but I was actually wondering how one's back and butt feels afterwards compared to OEM seats. I get similar thrills out of my 911 and MX5, but never swapped OEM seats on them.
I make these things so please be aware of that but for six months I had the 12 way adjustable seats whilst I fretted about what would happen if I took them out. In that six months I had half a dozen journeys over two hours. In every single long journeys I got out with a back ache. I have had the B10’s in for a year testing them and never once had a bad back after.
The lumbar area and cushion of the OEM seat allow the spine to move, whichever of the 12 buttons you push. With our hand sculptured shapes they are held stationary and the pressure points are completely removed. If the bones don’t move they don’t hurt.
If the convenience of falling into the car is important to someone, then it’s probably not the seat for them but if the car was bought for the joy of driving, I am confident to say that these seats 100% improve that experience.

@Steve Tillett said he does long road trips with them and finds them more comfortable than the stock ones.

For my use I'd prefer seat heat, so I'm trying to source the stock heating elements to see if they'll work plug and play with the car and can be fitted in the Tillet pads. But more than than as a daily and wanting to put plane cabin luggage behind the seat without risking marring the paint, I'm holding out for folding version. The pics @GRP posted above with it all the way forward isn't enough that I'd be comfortable lifting a metal edged roller bag into the back. I fully expect them to cost more should they be developed but so does repairing the paint.

The gap between the seats is huge with one seat back and one forward and the thin back to the seat means you have about 3 inches more storage room than standard, but I understand if that is too inconvenient for a regular traveler. We are a long way off with the folding option. It takes ages to develop and test these things.
As for the heater cloth that sounds as if it would work. when I get time I will strip one of my seats and see if it's possible.

Thanks @Steve Tillett. My suitcase comes in at around forty pounds so the only way in is behind the seat at the door. It's just too ungainly to try and hand in across the seats, and definitely not to sit and pass out across myself.

I've got time, and should you make them I'll be there for a set.

Also want to throw my hat in the ring - interested in folding carbon seats too.

@wuster
Just finished the install on the B10XL seats in our shop car and the results are beyond expectations!
The seat position is 10x better, especially if you are taller. You can actually get the seat bottom down where your line of sight is right in the middle of the windshield. No more slouching! There is plenty of adjustment for all heights though, you can get as much or little recline as you want also.
The belts and hardware all match up perfectly to make it a direct bolt in type kit. No extra hardware needed.
We are still working on addressing the airbag light. Hoping to offer a plug in solution that eliminates the airbag light and the seat belt warning for the drivers side. More to come on that soon.
I personally find the B10's more comfortable than the stock seats due to the much more formed fit, nice bolstering and planted feel. They really transform things and give a more connected feel with the car.
As discussed here prior the stock seats are total boat anchors in comparison, they are about 55lbs each while the B10's are about 10lbs each (before hardware/brackets)

If you are interested in these we are a official Tillett importer/distributor for North America and the go to Lotus Tillett dealer.
We have a couple sets of B10XL carbons coming in with Emira bracket sets in about 2 weeks. Custom pads take around 3-6 weeks typically.

Good news!
Lotus HQ has kindly agreed to let us buy leather from the original supplier in the ice grey, red, tan and black original colours.
We will get some in and make up panel sets to show those that are interested in keeping the interior perfectly matched.

nice! does this include the black alcantara with red stitch?

I really never quite understood the bucket seat fad, unless you're in to tracking/racing and you want to minimize side-to-side rocking on sharp turns. I also never cared for the skinny look, although I also get the fact that often the objective is weight reduction. I'm curious though, are these things as comfortable as the OEM seats?
12 months in to the day today!! 3000miles.
The seats have always been a terrible match for the car. Above all these should have been an option.
They are not uncomfortable just a completely generic and unsuitable seat for this type of vehicle.

A. A very well made but absolutely rubbish seat which functions as somewhere to sit with a hopeless headrest position for anyone over 5'7". Pointless and heavy motors. Heaters which work but on alcantara not really needed.

B. a proper sports seat as Steves (folding might be a good option for rear cab access but not necessary looking at the full forward position).

@Steve Tillett
Hi Steve - are there any air bag/dash warnings to deal with?
If so can they be turned off? I know this was discussed briefly a while back just wondered if there had been an update?

My car is at Bell & Covill now. Hopefully I have correctly placed the resistor type and position given to me by Van Der Kooi Sportcars and when they reset the car the warnings will disappear. If it works I will let everyone know.
Greg at Gregs Race Parts in the US is developing a plug. I think this will be the simplest solution and as he is one of our dealers I should have access to this anyway. Don't fear the lights though, as I don't even notice them now.
I've got an Emira courtesy car while the work is being done on mine. After using the standards seats again, I can safely sate that the OEM Emira seats ruin the dynamics of the driving experience and they hurt my back.

Does the airbag light being on effect the operation of any of the other airbags?

Any plans for a harness bar to compliment the seats?
I assume not but I don't know for sure. I am not a fan of airbags anyway as in a past encounter with a tree they caused a nasty injury to my wrist and never even touched my face. Our seats lock you in position so I feel safer knowing I'm located properly.
We only specialise in the manufacture of the seats and associated fitting brackets, so we do not supply harnesses or harness bars.

I dropped my Emira off at B&C for a few days earlier this year, I got a Vaux Corsa with a gearbox made of sponges as a courtesy car 😄

Nah, there's no car on earth more capable than a rental! 😜
