Just got an insurance quote for my Emira that's on it's way from the port: $1,388 every six months at 2,500 miles per year and a $1,000 deductible.

For reference, on the same policy, I pay $290 every six months for my 2007 Exige. 4.8x the price for the Emira seems insane to me. Also makes the Emira more expensive to insure than my R8 V10 was.

Is anyone paying reasonable rates as compared to their other cars?

$447 for 6 months $1000 deductible - 5000 miles per year.
Progressive

South Carolina.

i got a quote for 1200 a year from Grundy.. Theres restrictions on where i can drive it but its to places i dont want to take it anyways and theres no mileage restrictions

Dang. I'm in CA paying about $1,900/6 months with an $5k deductible and comprehensive insurance. No tickets or accidents on driving record, ever.

Midwest $748 every six months. $500 deductible with no mileage restriction $250 comprehensive
Location, history, and age of driver will have a huge impact on numbers

Go with Grundy $1300/year. The only stipulation is that you have a primary vehicle and that it's garaged.

5000 miles, $100 deductible, stated value at 110k

If you have an Emira, why would you ever drive something else if you don't have to? :) It's now my daily, and I use my big car for family road trips, but the Emira for everything else.

I paid $2,700/yr when I took delivery of the Emira, and it was with AllState. I thought that was insane as well, since my Evora was less than $1,000/yr. Within three months, I switched to Progressive and it dropped to $1,200/yr. I'm in AZ.

I'm always amazed at how much you pay in the US for insurance. Not just car, but all types, but Car Insurance seems to be the worst.

I am paying about £650 for a year, no mileage limitations and £250 excess. I have one claim, but no points and live on the South Coast, but a medium risk area
Thats about $850 at todays exchange rate.

I’ll be the devil’s advocate. Didn’t you total a car and have it replaced within a couple weeks? Maybe it’s worth the extra expense if they’re good when you need them.

This has had no impact on my rate. It was covered by track insurance.

My rate for the first car was $2,994 every 6 months

The second car is $1,800 every 6 months.

Your Emira coverage seems spot on to me. It seems like you're getting a steal on the Exige coverage.

My current 6 months rates:
2005 Elise: $509.86
2006 Exige: $765.84
2017 Evora 400: $809.98

State Farm. $1000 deductibles on comprehensive and collision coverage. Located in Alabama. Under 30, single.

I shop around pretty regularly and haven't been able to find a cheaper rates for all 3 cars.

I just insured mine today. £660 with £300 excess and no mileage limitations. No claims or points but it went from a quote of £440 to £660 when I said I’d just bought the car.

My LR Discovery on the other hand has doubled every year to the point it’s now over £1500
