Let's talk about the new bonnet/hood seal

My seal fell off inside two weeks. Not replaced.
interesting solution. I guess that whole under hood area is open and doesn't need to be sealed against the weather. There are a lot of rubber gaskets on the underside of the bonnet, etc., but maybe they're just to prevent body panels rubbing or making noise.

Seems like Corvette had something that might could help my Hethel Yellow Emira...not sure I'll expend any effort on a solution, but interesting...

This thread was made when Lotus brought cars to Goodwood the second year after announcement, and they had inserted a giant awful rubber piece almost an inch wide between the bumper and the hood. It looked nothing like the final production part. This thread is in response to that prototype, not in response to the production-fit hood seal.
So that's a fair point, but I don't see any problem discussing the production car as well. It's infinitely better than the prototype, but it is definitely more visible on some cars like Hethel Yellow than on others.

I picked my car with the seal 80% detached… oh and when I tried to put it back myself (because dealer wanted to leave the car for a full day), it appeared to be short . 🤦

Common issue. My buddy is waiting on the dealer to get the replacement seal back in stock. 🦭

I just ordered a new seal myself. It's $36.75 after taxes, and they said it would take two weeks to get it.

The driver's side part of the seal was torn and falling off, and I didn't notice it until I got home after collecting the car. There was also minor paint damage inside the lip of the front bumper panel in the same area. I'm not sure what happened there, but fortunately, you only notice it if you know to look for it.
