Lotus 3rd Phone Call

Perhaps they're pausing to revise the call list into a proper deposit date order, including the pre-reveal people? ;)

...or maybe the 8 people they've contacted means they've covered all the June deliveries? 😯

The only information HQ have provided us is that for
v6 FE we will start deliveries in Spring of 2022
whereas for the i4 FE it will be in Autumn of 2022. We
will be able to advise on a more accurate ETA for
yourself once you are allocated a build slot which is
after commitment to the order and spec, this will most
likely take place in the new year.

My response today from lotus. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lol “most likely in the new year” - as opposed to the following year??

So much inconsistency and lack of focus and uniform messaging

So, Leonard posted above to say he had the 3rd phone call on Tuesday for a 7am deposit on July 7th. Mine was at 9.30am on the 7th and no call yet. Either they are going very, very slowly, or perhaps working backwards? :)

I'm not sure any real method to it lol (sure there is but don't understand it)
My 1st call was late in comparison to my order date

I haven’t seen any posts across multiple forums since Tue from people saying they’ve been contacted.

Perhaps my joke about them having now contacted all 8 people who have June delivery slots was accurate!

I haven’t been called and have a pre-reveal deposit. My dealer spoke to Hethel on Tue and has said I’ll be called “soon” and not to be too bothered about timing of the call.

Still a lot of unanswered questions in my mind about things like ability to change spec, delivery timing etc. I will raise these with one of my Lotus contacts as well as when Customer Care call me.

I was told that changing your spec now may delay your delivery. One thing that might be affecting call timings is that they maybe (and are likely) painting in batches.... but who knows!

I paid my first deposit early hours of the 7th July , have paid second deposit .
I have only ever received a email ?

Was that email this week and about January process?

Lotus haven't exactly covered themselves with glory throughout this whole process have they? Communication with deposit holders has been frankly pretty terrible. Now, seemingly as enthusiasts we are all prepared to cut them a bit of slack as the end product looks so great and we all understand they are going through some growing pains. However if Lotus want to play with the big boys globally they badly need to up their game in terms of frequency, clarity and consistency of communication with customers . Are you listening Matt W?

As a first deposit holder (placed on 7th Nov), I received my call on 6th Dec requesting the 2nd deposit. When asked, Customer Care stated the following:
  • There was no pressure to place the second deposit and that I can " take as long as I need", but a build slot can only be confirmed once the config has been locked in, which "will most likely take place in the new year". So I take it as this is when one needs to absolutely decide and lock in the spec.
  • When asked, I was also told that production is on an individual basis and that "batch production will not be used", and that build slots will be "on the basis of when the first deposit was placed".
Given that I am not in the race to have an early car, but will be going for an FE V6 manual, I am going to hang back as long as possible before having to commit so that I can ensure that I get the right spec.

Hi All

Just in case it's helpful...

B&C dealer deposit for a V6 FE on the 28th of April. Lotus deposit on the 7th of July.

Call today from Lotus confirming June delivery, taking B&C deposit into account. "One of the very first Emiras...".

Followed up with the email below.

Thank you for your time on the phone today.

As discussed, we can confirm that your Emira V6 First Edition has been scheduled for build and will be available for you in June.

From January you will be able to go online and view your finance and payment options and see the list of Lotus agents who will be ready to hand over your car. If you are interested in trading in a car, you’ll be able to get an indicative valuation online.

Then up to 30 days before your car is due to be ready for delivery, we will invite you to complete your payment, sign your contract and make a final decision about where you will collect your car, or if you would like it delivered to your home address.

Please let me know if you have any questions or queries in the meantime. If not, please do have a merry Christmas on behalf of Lotus.

All dependent on if Omicron allows anyone to actually go into work over the coming months, of course.

Merry Christmas!

Very helpful, thanks

I missed the call today but had the same generic "June delivery" email as James DG has posted above. Still no reply to my email on Tue to Customer Services after hearing about the 3rd calls to other depositers on Monday. I have an update email from my dealer, with very little new info, and have not heard back from my Lotus contacts yet.

They dont reply to emails, or at least it takes weeks. I just call them. So long as you have had the June delivery email they will talk to you. But it sounds like you are in the first bunch of orders. Like i said, they confirmed that changing your spec now *may* delay your delivery date. Worth giving them a call. Alex seems a good chap.
