Lotus 3rd Phone Call

Yes, it typically takes a few days to get a reply. Tammy usually responds same/next day. I’ve been in meetings all day but will call Customer Care and others tomorrow.

The email at least confirms I’m in the June batch and they’ve previously said first 50/100.

I’m also keen to understand timeframes for later orders, particularly those booked for the Isle of Man trip where a 1-2 month delay (“spring”/April to June) could mean some not having their cars in time.

Perhaps they're pausing to revise the call list into a proper deposit date order, including the pre-reveal people? ;)

...or maybe the 8 people they've contacted means they've covered all the June deliveries? 😯
Hi Tom

Just recieved email from customer services

I have now had my phone call and email, and much to my surprise I'm on for a June delivery (7th July first deposit). Should be a fun summer! I was expecting to be a couple of months later than that given that first deliveries seem to have slipped a good few weeks and I should be behind all pre 6th July launch deposit holders.

One other thing. The customer services rep was very friendly and helpful, but there seems to be some uncertainty about whether a further deposit will be required in January. Very odd this hasn't been decided yet.

Hi All

Just in case it's helpful...

B&C dealer deposit for a V6 FE on the 28th of April. Lotus deposit on the 7th of July.

Call today from Lotus confirming June delivery, taking B&C deposit into account. "One of the very first Emiras...".

Followed up with the email below.

Thank you for your time on the phone today.

As discussed, we can confirm that your Emira V6 First Edition has been scheduled for build and will be available for you in June.

From January you will be able to go online and view your finance and payment options and see the list of Lotus agents who will be ready to hand over your car. If you are interested in trading in a car, you’ll be able to get an indicative valuation online.

Then up to 30 days before your car is due to be ready for delivery, we will invite you to complete your payment, sign your contract and make a final decision about where you will collect your car, or if you would like it delivered to your home address.

Please let me know if you have any questions or queries in the meantime. If not, please do have a merry Christmas on behalf of Lotus.

All dependent on if Omicron allows anyone to actually go into work over the coming months, of course.

Merr=

Hi what time did you place your order on the 7th?

ok an hour before me :)
Just literally had my call from Sharon@Lotus but because I want the colour changed from Seneca Blue to Nimbus Grey and want the full black leather interior she's gone back to the production manager to understand if this will delay my order which is currently planned for June.

I don 't know if I'm more excited for you guys having received calls or that I may get one in the next, well, who knows (deposit on 9th at 8am).

Refreshing this page is making an otherwise unremarkable Friday rather entertaining.

That latest pic of the Hethel Yellow car had me wavering about swapping from Seneca Blue, but given the possible delay this might cause, I think I'll just stick with Seneca. My first reaction when the Seneca launch car was revealed was love at first sight, not least because it is close to Daytona Blue which has always been a favourite of mine. Sometimes best to trust your first gut reaction :) I'd be interested to hear what the feedback is from the production manager though.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure I was told on the the second deposit phone call a few weeks back that the configuration wasn't set in stone and could be changed in January. Consistency of communication again......

Lots of people were told that on second deposit calls and at the roadshows.

Was told the same, but at this time nothing indicating my delivery will be delayed. Changed to full black pack and interior choice from alcantara to leather

Have they spoken to you to confirm that change hasn’t impacted on delivery?

Just got my Sharon @ Lotus call. Looks like she is working through 7th July deposits today (I was 13:50 on 7th). Clearly scripted but friendly. Target delivery in June (felt like she was indicating end-June without saying so) and follow up email says so.

Same frustration. I have specced sport suspension on Goodyears but am considering touring having read all the views here esp. TomE. WIll be driving both setups at B&C on Mon to make a decision. Same response that it may delay delivery. Same frustration about bad comms at 2nd deposit - hey ho!

I am keen to drive the car and see the initial reviews before final commitment. Asked about it again. Was told that everything is refundable until 30 days before delivery. And test cars in April/ May with press cars likely 1 month before. So, seems clear. But, given the reliability of their comms until now, I will take that with a bucket of salt.

Overall, the call was good and clear with some decent info. Better than most comms (or lack of) from Lotus until now. I hang onto hope ... for 'new Lotus' and an exciting car.

let us know the decision of suspension please. Be interesting to know how the sport suspension handles potholes etc.

Will do. I intend to keep my Alpine A110 as a daily driver - smaller, DCT, great fuel economy, etc. And use the Emira V6 manual for drives out. So will be keeping that in mind as I evaluate the suspensions.

Will be driving a manual after years - pretty apprehensive how well I will handle that.

So, I placed my deposit September 11th here in NY. I am guessing I might not see my Emira until 2023? What a time to be trying to purchase vehicles, with all of the shutdowns and craziness in the world. I am on the list for a Z06 and Cybertruck as well

Maybe by 2023 I will have made a final color decision?

Same here i have a DCT M3 (minus the fuel economy) which I will keep so this car is literally for fun days out in summer. The manual experience has to be better than the defender 90 I ran a few years back :)
