Lotus Emira Appreciation Thread

My neighbours must think I am loaded for swapping cars so much. First I had a Nimbus grey Emira, then a blue one for nearly 2 months (courtesy car), then I will have a Nimbus grey one again and finally it goes away for yellow PPF and will look totally different again.
When driving my Nimbus lots of people come up to me in the petrol stations saying how nice it is but driving the blue one gets people pointing much more because it stands out so much.

The Emira is f*cking epic.

I recently put on the Eventuri and it totally, 100%, has more power.
2nd gear no longer seems weak.

I've been a bit up and down on the car.. mostly liking but but sometimes slightly confused.

Now, suddenly its like the perfect car.

I have a had a 997, 991 and 992.... and all those seem so boring to me now
I am actually kind of shocked more people are not buying Emiras.
Maybe they are?


(I do feel its not too fun for passengers tho. Its just kind of jarring and raw and I think passsengers are not ready for this. They also are not connected to the car like the driver is).

Its def not as practical as a porsche but a hell of a lot more fun.

It’s not an unobtainium flex car. I never wanted that. I very much appreciate this car for what it is.

I somehow hope that the Lotus Emira will stay that insider tip as it is. It really is meant "FOR THE DRIVERS" and as such it only attracts mostly those. And of course it's looks.

I also thought it would generate more desire on broader customer base, but especially here in Germany only die hard fans drive Lotus as this is "Porsche Land".

I even see similarities to the Alpine A110 here. It took literally ages for customer base to establish, now even in a Porsche forum there a many A110 owners now. But back in 2018/2019 when I testdrove the "Première Edition" it was like a unicorn.

We have to be patient and if Lotus continues building Emiras it will become even more popular under "ordinary people" and not the car enthusiasts.

After 1700 miles in 10 days and no issues, my main thought is that the suspension is brilliant. The ride/handling balance with the touring suspension means it can pretend to be a GT car and then eat up a curvy road with balanced poise. It's awesome.

Yeah, I totally agree. Yesterday I took it up into the curvy mountainous areas upstate from where I live. This was the first time I'd been able to do this, as that area had some serious fires over the summer and the roads had been closed. This car is simply incredible for that type of driving. It carries speed effortlessly, and the way you can thread it through the twisties is almost magical. No drama. Balanced poise is the perfect description.

But what about the awesomeness that the Emira brings to your face when you drive it? Tell us about what makes it great! I’m closing in on 7k in a few months of ownership and still fun as hell!

I've Driven my Emira 7k miles since March.
Most recently a road-trip from Colorado to the Pacific NW. Quiet and smooth as silk on high speed Interstates. Handled like a magic carpet on the coastal twisties of Oregon. Extremely comfortable for long distance touring! The cabin seems more spacious than my Cayman S. The sweeping windshield creates a great field of vision. Took it on San Juan Islands Ferry and at the end of our trip Arches National Park.
Can't wait to plan another long trip.

Love mine! just about 3000 miles. Added valve controller, 3rd cat delete, oil and filter changed at 2400. Sound is just amazing with this basic setup.

4 months, 1,800 miles, all smiles. Every penny spent was worth it and it feels like I'm dating a first love all over again.

With the exception of early TPMS replacement, car has been flawless. My daughter and I share a twice/week joyride to the local ice cream shop and my 7 y.o. son is trying to drink more milk to be tall enough to get his turn. Good memories.
