Disclaimer: I'm basing this off recollections from someone else from the call, I haven't had time to listen to the full call myself, but some things may be inaccurate, and a lot of info has been missed too, I recommend you listen to the call yourself, the QA starts at 21 minutes in.

Things are getting spicy with Geely having to pivot away from Ev.

Great...just when I thought I'd have a collector's Emira (last of the Lotus ICE with stick) and just when I'm in the midst of completing ++ HOURS of DIY speaker upgrade with added sound insulation (amongst other mods), I'm now told I'll own an underpowered has-been, when replaced by a V8 with a stick. I feel so used (lol).

Damn I could have had a V8? Not sure. The Emira is already ass-heavy for a so-called mid-engine car. If I wanted more weight past the rear axle I'd have purchased Brand P. Besides, the power/weight ratio of the V6 seems ideal, very Lotus-y. There is a replacement for displacement, and it's called balance. Pick any American muscle car and see what happens in a fast turn: your apex is here, then it's here, then here, etc. etc.

In the call they also said due to American interest they are looking into putting the Emira on a diet and will throw carbon fiber at the car.
