Magma Red Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Took a drive to Lake Mountain via Kinglake/Toolangi/Chum Creek.. phone port was full of dirt and it went flat: no pics.
Went for a drive to Apollo Bay, pro Android Auto tip don't just search Great Ocean Road. Way point is Point Lonsdale, head there from Melbourne and then get onto Great Ocean Road.

Cleaned usb-c charge port with a safety pin. Also set cable connectionto charge battery only (another tip). Reason for the hessian screen is that ground nesting Plovers like their privacy, they'll swoop if they see you near their clutch/chicks and they are an endangered species. Stop sand getting swept off teh beach, yada and yada yada. Pics:

Fantastic photos @DMc, I’m sure the trip was heaps of fun! I live near the great ocean road so it’s a shame we didn’t meet up!

I'm going to guess you're either at Barwon Heads, or Ocean Grove, or Lorne, or Airey's Inlet. I didn't know there were so many Victorians driving an Emira already.
Now I am feeling for the American buyers waiting on the official FDA <?> road something something certification approval red tape blocking Lotus delivery.

I ended up almost driving right up to the South Australian border without once sighting Great Ocean Road let alone teh sea. Even worse I've driven down Great Ocean Road before. This time I just followed Android Auto for hours like a gullible moron trapped in his own bubble of blind faith.

Food and drug administration?
Nah, new vehicle model regulated US market design approval certification process. Something to do with crash safety standards testing, exhaust emissions standard, and general US-specific stuff.

Also some ICs fabrication raw materials are in short supply, some kinds of battery cannot be shipped, eg. self-immolating Tesla's. Thus a mandatory local market design approval checklist spec might then mean securing locally sourced manufacture and the hoops that that requires to be jumped through (licenced IPR, QC etc).

Are you windows tinted?

Are you windows tinted?
Yes. Cabin gets hot in direct sun, the tint blocks 60%of UV.

I want a fitted front window sunshield, but store sizes are generic. Tallest I could find was 80cm (approx 32in) which is about 2-3 inches short, and they are all too wide. Every last one.

I reckon 85cm tall will fit well, with the mirror v-notch accommodated. Emira dimensions needed are thus about 50in x 35in (in metric around 125-130cm x 85cm).

The smallest store width, however, is 140cm (about 55in).

Installed, I face the silver side out as its more reflective than the printed side. A much cooler car interior results. Which is very noticeable in such a small cabin.

Dunston Hall, nr Hethel, Norfolk. Prior to a day around the Hethel test track and tours, the car was amazing!

It’s definitely a curious colour… responds very well to light. But I’ve found it to look quite drab in the shade. If I was buying again I think I’d go for the brighter red (can’t believe I just said that)…

So, for all those wondering “what colour is Magma” here’s one of the car when it’s filthy after a week driving round small A and B roads in the Scottish Highlands. I like my car being clean, but it’s also got to be used and at the end of the day, “it’s just a car”. So I don’t mind when it’s dirty either and haven’t tried to clean it.
