Milltek Exhaust

Just about to post a link! Shame about the daft music inbetween the different options.
I quite liked the daft music !

But preferred the exhaust sound - what a transformation !

Any idea on cost ?

For anyone else who's a moron like me, ChatGPT was able to shine some light on the difference between these two setups:

To explain this a little bit more clearly here are your exhaust parts in order for the V6:
  1. Engine exhaust ports (3 per bank, 2 banks)
  2. Exhaust Headers (2 total, 1 per bank)
  3. Individual Header Primary Catalytic Converter (2 total, 1 per bank)
  4. Collector & Resonator (1)
  5. Secondary Catalytic Converter (1)
  6. Exhaust Valve (1)
  7. Muffler (1)
  8. Exhaust Tips (2)
The confusion here lies with the terminology Milltek is using. The V6 Emira as far as I'm aware does not have a particulate filter. Those are typically fitted downstream of the catalytic converter. For their purposes I think you can safely assume their reference to a particulate filter is the secondary catalytic converter.

So what this means is:

Milltek Particulate Filter Back Valved Exhaust:
- Replaces #6, #7, & #8
- It leaves the secondary cat in place
- This is sometimes also called an "axle back exhaust".

Milltek Cat Back Valved Exhaust:
- Replaces #5, #6, #7, #8
- It may also replace #4 depending on how much they are optimizing.
- It deletes the secondary cat but leaves the primary cats in place.
- This name is very confusing because while it's a cat back exhaust for the primary cats, it ignores that the secondary cat exists.

haha I just saw that one, was going to number the parts, but you can clearly see parts 3-8 in this photo.

Also how does this car look like it's seen 5 winters already?
Seriously! Though it looks like the engine itself is holding up much better than the frame and suspension castings. Maybe Toyota applies some coating?

I just re-watched the original Milltek video above with headphones on, and... are they actually revving the engine higher in setups 2 and 3 than they are in stock? If so, not exactly a fair comparison with the stock exhaust. 😄

Since when does the Emira have a gas particulate filter? And if it does exist, where is it in the exhaust?
