I was strolling around London and noticed this storefront:

I looked up the press release and it was projected to be opened in the Fall of 2022. I guess making cars isn’t the only thing Lotus is having trouble getting a handle on.

And right opposite the RITZ Green park, prime location. The new Porsche Mayfair is just up the road to the right hand side too.

I am in London for a few days. Driving from Heathrow to the hotel I passed an Audi and a Mercedes dealership, two of the nicest looking dealerships I have ever laid eyes on.

Based on your comment, they must have been sterling.

The latest date I have seen published for the opening of the Lotus London showroom in Mayfair is 29 July, 2023. It just so happens my wife and I will be in London that weekend and this would be a good way to help get through the indeterminate wait for news on North American build dates, V2 allocations, etc. Has anyone seen/heard of any confirmation on this opening date?

I haven't heard anything but I work about 5 minutes from the showroom on Piccadilly so when it opens I can be in there and armed with questions!!!

I mean, if forum members can't even get a straight answer out of Lotus employees at Goodwood, then I don't place high expectations on asking retail clerks at what is essentially a Lotus gift shop... (and my utmost respect to those retail clerks!)

Is there perhaps a door sign proclaiming 'Coming Soon?'
And can we expect to see key straps for sale?
Pretend it's an iPhone release and camp outside the storefront to be the first; after all 'You're in the fast lane and the finish line is in sight.'

Official (invite-only) media opening event was held today, I believe. Should be open to public from Sat (29 Jul)

Did they not have a major European flagship store in Piccadilly before? On Regent Street if memory serves.

Well, seems they are less prone to ransomeware attacks. Also, customer information stored in hardcopy only, updates scribbled on the sides, manufacturing in order of hardcopy pile, someone tripping on contraband network cable (swiftly taken care of) to enhance gambling aspect of build order... all these cybersecurity precautions seem to explain the various aspects of the past 2 years... Makes sense if you view it this way.

How is it possible to be SO bad at simple marketing tasks? Spectacularly poor as usual. Just as well that the car is brilliant.
